Foundayo and Anxiety: What Users Report

Foundayo (orforglipron) is a once-daily weight-loss tablet, and in the online communities that have grown up around it, anxiety comes up in two opposite directions. Some people say a long-standing restlessness has eased. Others describe a jittery, low or unsettled stretch they had not expected.

Anxiety also turns up before the first tablet is swallowed, in the nerves of people weighing up whether to start or switch. These are personal accounts shared on public forums, so they cannot show how common any of this is, or what lies behind it.

What follows is a look at how people describe it in their own words: the dread that comes before, the calm some report, the cost of that calm for others, and the harder days that sent a few of them back to where they started.

Nerves Before the First Tablet

For a number of people, anxiety is part of the reason they are looking at a tablet at all. One person who had spent sixteen months on a weekly injection found that the dread built around the same day each week, and framed the switch as a way to take some of the stress out of it.

"I loved how the drug worked for me but I started to get a lot of anxiety around shot day. I never liked doing the shot the entire 16 months I was on it but it was getting increasingly harder every week this year. I decided to switch to the pill because a daily pill seemed less stressful to me."
– ss0826

That fear of the needle is not the only kind on show. Among people still deciding, the worry shifts to how a daily tablet might feel, and whether it is gentler than waiting out a whole week after an injection.

"The weekly injection anxiety is SO real for me too. I think the idea of a daily pill feels mentally easier because if something feels off, you don’t feel "locked in" for the entire week."
– Additional-Quail-972

For others the obstacle is not a needle but one physical sensation they dread more than any other, and it colours how they approach the whole category.

"I’m definitely afraid of nausea and vomiting. A lot of my anxiety is tied with emetophobia (fear of vomiting) so any GLP-1 is hard for me to get myself to try."
– Notyouraveragejew1

Then there are those who did make the leap, and who describe a very different internal weather once the tablets began, which is where the next accounts begin.

A Quieter Mind

Some of the least expected accounts come from people who say the change was in their thoughts rather than their waistline. One person with long-standing anxiety, a week into the lowest dose, tied the change to the fading of constant mental chatter about food, and described a few moments that would normally have rattled them.

"I have pretty bad anxiety in general (not currently on meds for it), but the lack of general food drama that used to occupy my mind seems to free up mental bandwidth to move more mindfully through situations that would otherwise reliably trigger me. Of course, I’m early in my journey as well, but I had a few things come up in the past week where I noticed "hm, I’m not as strung out about that as I thought I’d be.""
– Fair-Organization-61

Another poster started a thread by asking whether anyone else had noticed something similar. Their own example was concrete and personal: a fear that had kept them off the road since an accident.

"I have had a fear of driving since an accident. Two weeks after foundayo, I decided to start driving again. And I have been fine."
– tababnaba76

A far wider-reaching version came from someone who linked the feeling to a history of worry stretching back decades, and who described a change in their whole mental state rather than a single situation.

"I’ve had constant worry and anxiety for decades stemming from complex PTSD, and it’s almost completely gone at 2.5 of Foundayo. I feel so calm, like my mind is finally "resting" and the hyper vigilance is gone. It is amazing."
– SatinAnn

Not everyone who reports feeling calmer, though, describes it as pure gain, and the next account complicates the picture.

Calm, With a Catch

Within that same thread, a poster who was on Zepbound rather than Foundayo, and weighing a switch, offered a more mixed picture. Their anxiety had eased, but so, they said, had the other end of the emotional range.

"GLP1s definitely have helped my anxiety. It’s like the highest and lowest 10% of my emotions are sort of muffled. Both positive and negative, so my joyous moments are also a little less. But I still feel it."
– JadedAd3191

A reply from a Foundayo user, who had also moved across from Zepbound, took the opposite line on that point and was clear that nothing positive had gone missing for them.

"I haven't had any of the good stuff muffled - I try to enjoy all the beauty in life without the noise of food or alcohol getting in my way."
– SensitiveCell834

Two people who started in much the same place, then, can come away with different answers about what the calm costs, which makes a useful bridge to the accounts that run the other way altogether.

When Anxiety Arrives Instead

Early-days reports are often brief. Asked by a new starter what to expect on the first day, one person gave a short, matter-of-fact answer about the lowest dose, with a hope that it was already fading.

"A bit of anxiety but that should be lessening already. Otherwise not much at the first level."
– phil_deez

A different thread shows how the same feeling can sit alongside good news. Under a post asking for unexpected pleasant side effects, one person answered with the reverse, and noted that the appetite effect they had hoped for arrived with a dose increase.

"Increased anxiety for me!! Jaw pain, somatization etc. it did curb my appetite when I increased the dose."
– IntelligentPotato241

For a few, a single day was enough to put them off. Some time after trying, one poster was still weighing up a second attempt, and their wording makes clear that the decision was about nerve as much as about the tablet.

"I tried 1 day and had bad anxiety so didn’t try it again I need to gain courage to try again."
– SadKaleidoscope563

Those are the milder end of the spectrum, and some accounts describe days that felt much heavier than a passing wobble.

Low Moods and Unsettled Days

One poster wrote on day seven, with a list of expected effects behind them and a sense that something else had crept in. They described a restlessness with no clear target and the loss of small daily pleasures, and they ended by asking whether it was only a bad day.

"anxiety - feeling antsy, like almost anticipatory but theres nothing to anticipate. unsettled. just not comfortable sitting. not feeling that content feeling you usually have no dopamine hits."
– Witchbitch6661

Replies to that post brought in other voices who recognised the picture. One, who had used other GLP-1 medicines before moving to the tablet, compared them directly and was left unsure which direction to take.

"Zepbound helped my anxiety, but I was getting fatigued at injecting weekly and getting injection site reactions. Foundayo has made me so anxious and depressed though. I’m not sure which way to go."
– I-want-to-be-evil

One account stands apart from someone who had moved up a dose and described a chain of events: first heavy sleepiness, then broken nights, then a change in mood that they had never experienced before.

"I finally caught up on sleep and then all of the sudden, my mood was erratic. I’m talking depression, anger, irrational and irritable. I was quite literally experiencing mania. I have never had mania before in my life."
– Original-Ice-5488

Another poster in that same thread reported the opposite, a calmer mind on the same tablet, which sums up how divided these accounts are. For some on the harder side, the question became whether to carry on at all.

Stopping, or Going Back

Several posters describe a point at which the trade-off stopped making sense. For one, who had managed only a month on the starter dose, the tiredness and anxiety arrived together, and the outcome was to stop.

"It makes me extremely tired and heightens my anxiety. Unfortunately I have to stop and thats only 0.8mg😒"
– Ornery-Judgment2383

A UK-focused thread offered a similar story from a different starting point. A person who had moved from a high dose of Mounjaro to a 9mg tablet a month earlier described a list of troubles, and had already put in a repeat order for the injection.

"I HATE Foundayo. My depression & anxiety are back with a vengeance, my weight is up, I am having trouble sleeping and concentrating, and I am suffering with water retention."
– Aurorafaery

What Does Medino's Pharmacist Think?

"What stands out in these accounts is how much they pull in opposite directions. Some people describe feeling calmer, others more unsettled, and quite a few were already anxious about starting at all. Reading them side by side, it is hard to find a single pattern, which is a reminder of how personal the picture is."
– Alessandro Grenci, Pharmacist at Medino

A Story With Two Directions

Anxiety on Foundayo, as people describe it, is less one experience than several: nerves before starting, a calm that some are surprised to find, a restlessness that others did not bargain for, and the weighing-up that follows. What the accounts share is a habit of close self-observation, and a sense that people are still working out, in public, what the tablet means for their own minds.
