Foundayo and Depression: What Users Report About Their Mood
Foundayo (orforglipron) is a once-daily tablet authorised in the UK for weight management, and people who take it write about far more than appetite. In forum threads, mood gets its own posts: some ask whether the tablet could be pulling them down, while others report feeling calmer, lighter or simply more like themselves.
These are personal accounts from public forums. They cannot show how often anything happens or whether Foundayo has anything to do with it, and several of the writers mention earlier medicines or earlier low periods of their own.
What follows begins with the accounts of low mood, looks at the weeks around a dose change, then turns to people who carry mood questions over from another medicine, and ends with those who describe something brighter.
When Small Pleasures Go Quiet
The starkest descriptions are less about sadness than about the loss of ordinary lift. One person, a week into Foundayo after a year on Zepbound and three months on the Wegovy pill, listed the effects they had expected and then the one they had not.
"i guess i didn’t realize how many i get - from that first sip of ice coffee, or the feeling of a warm breeze on your face, usually a get a little dose of happiness and m feeling nothing. no happiness, no endorphin release. it’s just not right. I guess i just dont feel ‘right’. i have dealt with depression in the past. but its been a really long time since i felt this down."
– Witchbitch6661
In a reply posted weeks later, the same person wrote that the longer they stayed on the pill, the less they felt it, which makes the day-seven post a snapshot rather than a verdict. Others fold a lower mood into a wider run of complaints, as in this account from someone who went back to Mounjaro.
"For me, it was mainly GI issues and constant bloating, along with extreme fatigue, headaches, and an overall really low mood. I just felt awful and not like myself most of the time. It was honestly exhausting."
– Early_Blueberry9229
Sometimes mood appears only in passing, as the reason a routine changed. A 62-year-old, nearly three months in and underwhelmed by the scales, mentioned it only to explain why she had dialled back her boot camp classes.
"I’d been doing boot camp but dialed back because the med made me fatigued and depressed."
– GinaHannah1
Low or flat, these descriptions rarely come with a clear start date, although several people pin theirs to the moment a dose changed.
Around a Dose Step
Foundayo comes in rising strengths, and a number of the mood posts are anchored to the moment someone moved up. One person dated their low mood to a few days after going from 0.8 mg to 2.5 mg.
"I have felt depressed after moving from .8 to 2.5 after only a few days. I am rather lethargic."
– Ohana3ps
Sleep sometimes goes first. A poster who had been fine on 0.8 mg wrote that a week into 2.5 mg they were nodding off by day and lying awake for hours at night, and that mood changed once the sleep had caught up.
"I finally caught up on sleep and then all of the sudden, my mood was erratic. I’m talking depression, anger, irrational and irritable."
– Original-Ice-5488
Not everyone separates mood from the rest of how they feel. On the same strength, another person bundled it into a general sense of being unwell, alongside headaches and exhaustion.
"I’m having headaches and extreme moodiness on 2.5. I just feel bad. Plus I am exhausted."
– naughtygirlatnite
Replies to that post suggest a spread of outcomes. One commenter described roughly three and a half weeks of moodiness at 2.5 mg before it faded, and added that it had happened on the starter dose too.
"I had 3 and 1/2 weeks of moodiness and mild fatigue but it finally went away."
– HalleFreakinLujah
Dose is only one frame, though, and another runs through many of these accounts: what the person had been taking before.
Carrying Questions From One Medicine to the Next
Many people arrive at Foundayo after another weight-loss medicine and bring their mood history with them. Before starting, one person asked other users about low mood and motivation because of what they had experienced on the injection they were leaving.
"I’ve been on Zepbound for quite a while, and I am coming off either way because of the terrible fatigue it causes for me. It goes on for days and the mood issues it causes as well. […] anybody getting any signs of a blue mood or lack of motivation to do anything."
– claremont26
Replies to the day-seven post above show how mixed these histories can be, with one commenter placing Foundayo in a sequence that also included a medicine that had helped.
"Foundayo has made me so anxious and depressed though. […] Wegovy also increased my anxiety and depression and made me really irritable."
– I-want-to-be-evil
The comparison can run against Foundayo as well. One person, a month after changing over from Mounjaro, put low mood at the top of a longer list.
"I switched from 15mg Mounjaro to Foundayo 9mg a month ago. […] My depression & anxiety are back with a vengeance, my weight is up, I am having trouble sleeping and concentrating, and I am suffering with water retention."
– Aurorafaery
Against these stand other accounts in which mood is among the first things people mention, and it is moving in the opposite direction.
A Calmer Baseline
Some people describe something closer to a lowering of the volume than a change of mood. Within days of starting 0.8 mg, one person noticed they were slower to anger.
"I’m only on day 5 of Foundayo 0.8 and I’ve noticed I’m much calmer and slower to anger. I’m not getting irritated as easily and little things don’t seem to bother me as much anymore."
– PinkBlood0
A quieter mood is not always experienced as simply better. Replying to another user's remark that the highest highs seem dulled along with the lows, one person described what it had done to a favourite pastime.
"my anxiety dropped . Although like you said,, even the highest emotions are muffled. I noticed I haven't played piano as much . (it was my stress reliever.)"
– tababnaba76
Elsewhere the lift is described in plainer terms, with less sense of a trade-off and no certainty about where it comes from.
"I feel happier, less anxious. I can't completely put my finger on it, but mentally I just feel better."
– SweetAwareness0504
Several of these writers also tried to account for what they felt, and their explanations differ.
Mood Lifting, for Different Reasons
For one person who had taken Wegovy for migraines, mood was part of the reason they left it and part of what changed when they came to Foundayo.
"I had some success with wegovy for migraines but had to stop due to mood and stomach issues. I switched to foundayo and have had the same improvement with migraines. Mood is better too."
– Desperate-Crew7432
Not everyone looks to the tablet for an explanation. Asked directly, in a thread about fatigue, whether they had noticed changes in mood, another poster tied theirs to how their body was changing.
"My mood has improved as I feel my body get lighter and tighter!"
– inh-exh
What Does Medino's Pharmacist Think?
"What stands out is how differently people describe their mood: some mention feeling low, some feel calmer, and several are unsure whether it has anything to do with the tablet. Mood is shaped by many things at once, so accounts like these are best read as individual stories."
– Alessandro Grenci, Pharmacist at Medino
Different Moods, Different Stories
Read together, the accounts do not agree on a direction. Several people tie what they felt to a moment, such as a first week, a dose change or a switch, while others cannot say when it began or whether it belongs to the tablet at all.
Appetite is what brings most people to the tablet, but in these threads mood is what some of them end up writing about.
