Foundayo for Men: Results and Considerations

Scroll through the Foundayo (orforglipron) threads and a particular kind of post keeps surfacing: a man, often in middle age or later, giving his age, height and starting weight in the first line and then reporting back as the weeks pass. Some arrive after earlier weight loss, some from a stint on weekly injections, and a few are on their very first day.

What they report is anything but uniform. One describes barely noticing the tablet; another spends his first week queasy and headachey. One watches the scales fall steadily, another sees nothing for a month. These are individual accounts from public forums, not evidence of what the medicine does or how often, but set side by side they sketch what the early months can look like for men who chose to write it down.

What Brought Them There

Not every account begins with the scales. Several start with something the weight was getting in the way of.

"Male, 51 yrs, 6'5, 290lbs I was so scared of the side affects but my goal is to make it to 60 without Obesity. Been overweight most of my life and I know i can't do it alone."
– BS_shogun

For others the reason sits in a joint or a muscle. A 41-year-old on his second day described a body that had been through the wars, and the plan that followed from it.

"I have knee issues from multiple sports injuries and subsequent surgeries that limit my ability to do any impact exercise, so focusing on walking the dog and standard exercises. Hoping foundayo will help get to a weight that relieves the joints and allows me to get more active"
– donle215

One 54-year-old goes further and says the scales are barely the point. He had a body-composition scan in the same week as his first tablets, and his goals are written in terms of fat and muscle rather than pounds.

"54 y/o male starting at around 210 pounds. Reducing that isn't the primary goal for me, though it's almost impossible that it won't be reduced while achieving my actual goals. […] I don't care about being shredded or anything like that. I just want to stay strong and get healthier."

A Quiet Start, a Rough One

Early weeks are where accounts diverge most sharply. A few men write as if nothing much has happened at all, while others find the first days harder than anything they expected.

"From day 1, I've had no side effects. And I've not been hungry for one second."
– Spiritual_Sea0613

The opposite report comes from a man who had already lost well over 100lbs on Mounjaro and expected the tablet to feel gentler by comparison. He kept a weekly log, scoring his symptoms out of ten, and his first entry reads very differently from the one above.

"The nausea has honestly been the biggest surprise. It's been awful and almost constantly present throughout the week, and much worse than I experienced on Mounjaro. With Mounjaro, I generally only experienced nausea for around 2 days when titrating up a dose, whereas this has been pretty much daily/non-stop despite being on the starting dose."

Slow, Steady and Not at All

The scales tell their own mixed story. For some men there was a long wait before anything moved, with the early doses doing little.

"Male 62 yrs old. Started 6/1 at 214 lbs. Lost nothing the first month. Increased to 2.5 mg the second month and lost a couple lbs. Aug 1 started 5.5 mg and now on Sept 12 I'm at 198 lbs."
– Ned-Racine80

A man who had moved over from Zepbound for maintenance sits at the far end of that spectrum: on the lowest dose the scale was heading the wrong way, and he was hoping the higher strengths would behave differently.

"I just started this month on the .8 dose after being on Zepbound for about 18 months and switching for maintenance. It's good to hear the higher doses actually do something, as my current .8 does nothing and I've gained about 5lbs this month (currently at 185)."
– Dolomasi

Then there are those for whom the numbers moved from the start, in some accounts with a return to regular exercise folded in at the same time.

"I have lost 25 pounds in eleven weeks. […] The first week of each dosage increase has been rough with lots of reflux but otherwise, I just eat smaller amounts without thinking about it. I don’t snack all day any more […] I lost 75 pounds with diet/exercise in 2019 but Foundayo just makes it easier."
– lookmanolurker

The most vivid of these accounts tie the weight loss to what it allowed next. One man had been working around a bad back, and the change he describes is as much about movement as about pounds.

"I started as a 6’ male weighing 215 lbs with some back pain that would flare from time to time making consistent exercise a small challenge. […] So far I’ve lost 16 lbs. […] More importantly, with less weight I’m able to exercise more vigorously without hurting my back."

When the Energy Disappears

Weight is one measure; how a man feels at three in the afternoon is another. A 60-year-old on his second day at the lowest dose was already worried about what tiredness would do to the work waiting for him at home.

"Both yesterday and today I've been really low energy and eventually totally crashed and napped for an hour. […] FWIW, my hope is that weight loss will make it easier for me to take care of things on the five acres we just moved to. There are rocks to be moved, fences to be built, a patio to pour, a gazebo to put up, and more."
– SirRatcha

The tiredness isn't confined to people at the very start. A 64-year-old who had reached his goal weight on injections said it arrived with the tablet, hitting mid-afternoon in his first week.

"Was on Zep for a year lost all the weight I wanted to. Went on the Foundayo pill last week and get super tired mid afternoon. Active male, 64yo."
– Enough_Song8815

For a 65-year-old a few weeks in, the fatigue had settled somewhere specific, and he compared it with how he had felt on the injection.

"I am 65 M took Zep 2.5 for 2 months list 17 lbs now just started Fundayo for 3 weeks . Lost only three pounds and now move to next level. Zep was tough tired, queasy but used electrolyte drinks and protein drinks. Foundayo is similar but my legs are tired and hard to get walking for excercise. Like slow motion but work thru it."

The Gut Going the Other Way

Digestive complaints come up often in these threads, which makes one account from a 71-year-old unusual. He had lived with irritable bowel for most of his life, and he describes the tablet pushing in a direction that, for him, was welcome.

"I have suffered from relatively mild IBS-D all my life. I have learned how to "manage" it, but it has been somewhat debilitating and definitely restricting all my adult life. The Foundayo has created the opposite effect, and although somewhat uncomfortable, it is far better than having to find a bathroom at the most in opportune times. I would much prefer being "jammed" up a bit than the alternative 🙂."

From Injection to Maintenance

A recurring storyline is the man who has already done his losing and is looking for a way to hold the result. A 55-year-old who had lost 40kg over 15 months on Mounjaro was planning a move to the tablet, partly for cost reasons, and the worry he raised was a quieter one.

"I guess my biggest concern is food noise given I've not had it for 15 months and I really want to try and maintain where I end up."
– Zippyandbungle2

A Question About Sex Drive

One thread stands apart because of its title: a 38-year-old asking other men how their sex drive was holding up. His own answer, given with some care about what counted as normal for him, came first.

"I’m a 38 year old guy, and I would say my libido has gradually been going down since my twenties, which is normal enough. However, when I take Foundayo, I noticed that it REALLY goes down."
– Flat-Apartment7859

Replies were short and pulled in different directions. The simplest was a single line from someone who had noticed nothing.

"I've not noticed any impact on my sex drive"
– jamesdew84

A longer reply, from someone using the tablet for maintenance after Zepbound, described a stretch on it, a break from it, and how things felt at each point.

"I've noticed it suppressing my libido. I'm using Foundayo for maintenance. […] That's when I noticed my libido returning to pre-Foundayo levels, about 4 days after stopping."
– Wild-Lavishness-9139

Neither the original poster nor the replies can say what caused what, and the 38-year-old himself wondered aloud whether it might be placebo. What the thread does show is that the question gets asked, in a corner of the forums where most posts are about weight, dose and nausea.

What Does Medino's Pharmacist Think?

"Reading these accounts side by side, what stands out is how different the starting points are. A man looking to protect his joints, a man who has already lost a lot on injections and a man curious about his body composition are asking different things of the same tablet, so it is not surprising that the experiences vary so much. These threads are best read as individual stories rather than a prediction for anyone else."
– Alessandro Grenci, Pharmacist at Medino

A Spread of Starting Points

Taken together, the men in these threads do not describe one result. They describe a handful of separate journeys: the quiet start, the queasy one, the long wait, the steady loss, the tired afternoon and the unexpected digestive relief.

What they share is the habit of reporting. Age, height and starting weight go into the first line, and the follow-up posts come weeks later, written for other men deciding whether to begin.
