Switching From the Wegovy Pill to Foundayo: What People Are Reporting

Two daily weight-loss tablets now sit side by side in online forums, and a growing number of people are talking about moving from one to the other. Wegovy tablets and Foundayo (orforglipron) arrive with very different instructions and very different reputations, and the threads where people compare them are a mix of relief, disappointment and open argument.

The reasons for switching vary as much as the outcomes. Some people were worn down by the morning routine, some by side effects, some by a weight-loss plateau, and some were simply nudged by a prescriber. These are personal accounts shared online, so they cannot show how common any particular experience is or why it happened.

What follows is a look at the stories people tell about the move: why they made it, what the first weeks felt like, and what happened to the things they hoped would change.

The Morning Routine Problem

For a surprising number of people, the first complaint is not about how a tablet feels but about when it has to be taken. Those describing the Wegovy tablet routine talk about taking it first thing, then waiting before eating, drinking or taking anything else. For one person, the wait collided with an ordinary habit and with ordinary forgetfulness.

"I can take the pill whenever I want with or without food. This has helped me be more consistent with taking it daily. I forgot the wegovy several times or overslept and didn’t want to wait half an hour for caffeine."
– turtlegray23

The frustration can be mild. Someone weighing up a switch stressed that the rule was not unbearable, only wearing, which may be why it features so often as a tipping point rather than a crisis.

"It’s the restrictions around taking the Wegovy tablets that are my main reason to change. I mean it’s not terrible having to take first thing and wait for 30 minutes to an hour before having a cuppa, but it’s a bit of a pain!"
– wegogovy

For others the problem is how the half-hour wait collides with a full day. A few describe morning medication, workouts or the commute as the real sticking points, and one person had decided to switch while still trying to get hold of the first Foundayo prescription.

"I’m going to try to switch because I really hate fasting for even 30min in the morning because it delays my adhd meds, I don’t like AM workouts without water, and I have to get going to work."
– Prize-Thing-523

If convenience brings some people to Foundayo, others arrive for a very different reason.

When Side Effects Were the Reason

Some switchers were not chasing flexibility at all. They had a tablet that made them feel unwell, and they were hoping the other one would feel different. One person, ten days into the Wegovy tablets, was already planning an exit.

"I’ve been on Wegovy tablets for 10 days and not really getting on with it - I have a sort of ‘choked’ feeling all the time."
– PickFlowersNotFights

A longer and more detailed version of the same story comes from someone who reached the second dose, followed the instructions to the letter and still spent every hour feeling sick, until their doctor suggested the alternative. The update, posted a month into Foundayo, is as short as the original complaint was long.

"I tried the wegovy pill first and made it to the second dose (4mg) but the nausea was pretty unbearable. It wasn’t hospital bad but it was constant. 24 hours a day. […] I’ve completed my first month of Foundayo with absolutely zero nausea symptoms."
– balewis114

Not every switch was triggered by a bad week. Another person had pushed up to the highest strength of the Wegovy tablet, stopped, stepped back and stayed put for months before the weight loss stalled. By the time they moved to Foundayo, they were braced for the worst.

"Really can't tell that I switched and I was VERY worried about switching."
– justgone2

Others came to the switch not because of how they felt, but because of what the scale had stopped doing.

Plateaus and Prescribers

A recurring story is the plateau. People describe a fast start, a long stretch of steady loss and then a point where nothing moves and the old appetite creeps back. For one person on the highest Wegovy tablet strength, the change was as noticeable as it was unwelcome.

"Appetite is increasing and I’m really snacking a lot. When I first started, I literally wasn’t hungry but now it’s like everything is back to before. Feels like a plateau."
– WesternScheme66

Plateaus also turn into conversations with prescribers, and these do not always go the way people expect. One person asked about going up a dose on the Wegovy tablet and was offered Foundayo instead, a suggestion that came with a promise of fewer side effects.

"I told my Dr I wanted to move to the 9mg and she told me Foundayo would be way better."
– Pluminthe

The reaction from the forum was immediate and blunt. Reading the doctor's reasoning, one commenter could not see the logic, and the thread quickly became a debate about trial data, price and which company's numbers could be trusted.

"That makes absolutely no sense, Foundayo tends to have worse side effects."
– Perfect-Ad2578

Beneath the argument, the original poster had simply asked whether anyone had made the same move. Elsewhere, people who had done exactly that gave their own accounts, and their stories sound very different from the numbers being thrown around.

A Smoother Landing for Some

A number of people say the swap worked out better than they dared hope. One UK poster summed up a long run of products, from weekly injections to daily tablets, before describing how Foundayo compared, just six days in.

"I’ve previously done mounjaro injections (the once a week thing really didn’t work for my adhd brain plus the suppression effect eventually wore off) and wegovy daily tablets (better than injections for me, but the 30 min wait before food and drink after taking the tablet was annoying on a busy morning). Today is day 6 of Foundayo and for me, the suppression is WAY stronger than wegovy. I’m so pleased!"
– TheAirbender

The same thread brought a similar verdict from someone a week in, whose comparison hinged on the one symptom that had made the earlier tablet hard going.

"I’ve been on it a week and have lost 7lbs though some of that will be water weight and no side effects but had terrible nausea on the Wegovy tablets"
– Webb27

These reports come from the first days or weeks, however, and some of the later ones are more mixed.

When the Switch Doesn't Settle

Not everyone found the change so easy. A month into Foundayo, one person who had moved down from the highest Wegovy tablet strength was still waiting for their digestion to settle, and they had a particular reason for noticing it.

"I switched from 25mg wegovy oral to 0.8mg foundayo. One month in and the gi symptoms have not improved like I expected them to over time. I have constant gas and am frequenting the bathroom several times a day. Wegovy actually improved ibs but it seems foundayo has worsened it."
– Awkward_Evidence9999

Another account turns the comparison on its head. After injections that felt far too strong, one person found the Wegovy tablets did little beyond causing constipation, and with Foundayo met the opposite problem.

"tried wegovy pill this year, it just made me super consitpated and i barely lost any weight or had appetite suppression. was hoping the foundayo would be different. its definitely doing the job better just too well."
– Witchbitch6661

Then there are the people for whom the issue is not side effects but silence. They switched expecting the benefits to carry over and found that something had gone missing along the way.

"once i switched it feels like the benefits have dissipated a bit and haven't returned with the new meds (granted i'm only 3 weeks into foundayo)."
– Ill-Ad3035

The writer admits it is early days. Someone six weeks in, who had stopped the Wegovy tablets for a while before starting Foundayo, described the gap in more vivid terms.

"I did start noticing the food noise returning within a week or so of stopping, and the weight loss stalled. I’ve been on Foundayo for the last 6 weeks and am currently on 2.5mg. I have had zero side effects. However the food noise has come back with a vengeance and it’s taken everything in me to not regain."
– HairballProphet

What Does Medino's Pharmacist Think?

"What stands out in these accounts is that switching means different things to different people. For some it is about the daily routine, for others about how they felt on the first tablet, and for others about a stalled scale. The experiences afterwards are just as varied, which is a reminder that two medicines in the same family do not necessarily feel the same to the person taking them."
– Alessandro Grenci, Pharmacist at Medino

Different Reasons, Different Endings

Read together, these accounts do not point to a single verdict on moving from the Wegovy tablet to Foundayo. They describe a mix of motives, from convenience to nausea to plateaus, and a mix of outcomes, from an unnoticed swap to a stomach that stayed unsettled to appetite that came roaring back.

What the people in these threads share is the sense that they are running their own small comparison, one tablet against another, one body against a set of expectations, and then reporting back to strangers who may be deciding the same thing.
