Description
Benylin Mucus Cough is used to help relieve chesty coughs.
It contains Guaifenesin (an expectorant) to help loosen mucus (phlegm) from the lungs and make it easier to cough up, and Levomenthol to help you breathe more easily by easing congestion.
Ingredients
The Active Ingredients in 5ml of Benylin Mucus Cough are: 100mg Guaifenesin and 1.1mg Levomenthol.
Usage and Instructions
Adults and Children aged 12 years and over:
Two 5ml spoonfuls at bedtime followed by two 5ml spoonfuls every 6 hours, as required.
Do not take more than 4 doses (1 dose – two 5ml spoonfuls) in 24 hours.
Do not use in children under 12 years.
Warnings
Do not use Benylin Chesty Coughs Non-Drowsy:
If you have ever had a bad reaction to any of the ingredients.
For a child under 12 years of age.
Talk to a doctor or pharmacist before using Benylin Chesty Coughs Non-Drowsy:
If you suffer from liver or kidney problems.
If you have been told by your doctor that you have an intolerance to some sugars.
If you have had a cough for a few weeks that may be caused by asthma, or a cough which brings up a lot of mucus (phlegm).
If you are taking alcohol.
If you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
Side Effects
Possible side effects are:
- Abdominal pain.
- Diarrhoea.
- Feeling sick.
- Vomiting.
- Allergic reactions such as a rash or itching.
Stop using the cough syrup and get medical advice if you think you've had an allergic reaction to it.
