BetterYou Iron Daily Oral Spray is a food supplement supplying 5mg of iron per daily dose, delivered as an oral spray rather than a tablet or capsule. It is formulated to be sprayed into the mouth and absorbed through the inside of the cheek, an alternative BetterYou designed to avoid the digestive discomfort some people experience with traditional iron tablets.

Do I need to take BetterYou Iron Daily Oral Spray with food?

No. It does not need to be taken with food or water and can be taken at any time of day.

What is the minimum age for BetterYou Iron Daily Oral Spray?

It's suitable from 3 years old, at a reduced dose of 1 spray daily. The full adult dose of 4 sprays (5mg iron) applies from age 13.

Is BetterYou Iron Daily Oral Spray suitable if I have haemochromatosis?

No. It is not suitable for people with haemochromatosis, an iron overload disorder, because it would add to the excess iron the condition already causes.

Active ingredient: Iron (as ferric sodium EDTA and ferric ammonium citrate), providing 5mg of iron per daily dose of 4 sprays (36% NRV).

Other ingredients: Water, xylitol (diluent), potassium sorbate (preservative), natural pomegranate flavouring.

Press the pump 3 times before first use to prime it, then shake well before every use. Spray into the mouth, ideally onto the inside of the cheek, and hold for a few seconds before swallowing. Replace the cap after use.

The number of sprays depends on age:

• 3 to 5 years: 1 spray daily
• 6 to 8 years: 2 sprays daily
• 9 to 12 years: 3 sprays daily
• 13 years and over, including adults: 4 sprays daily (5mg iron)

Once opened, use within 6 months. Store at room temperature, away from direct sunlight.

This product contains iron and carries the following precautions:

• Not suitable if you have haemochromatosis, an iron overload disorder.
• Contains iron, which can be harmful to young children in overdose; keep out of reach and sight of children.
• Do not exceed the recommended dose for your age group.

Taking more than the recommended dose may have a laxative effect. The manufacturer does not report any other side effects for this product.
