What is Celluvisc and what is it used for?
Celluvisc is a tear substitute that contains the lubricant called carmellose sodium. It is used for the treatment of the symptoms of dry eye such as soreness, burning, irritation or dryness. If you do not feel better after using Celluvisc, you should talk to a doctor.
How does Celluvisc work?
Celluvisc works by forming a viscous eye gel via the carmellose sodium solution. It produces a transparent, lubricating and moistening film on the surface of the eye.
Who should not use Celluvisc?
Celluvisc should not be used if you are allergic to carmellose sodium or any of the other ingredients of the medicine. Before using Celluvisc, it is important to talk to a doctor or pharmacist if you are using, have recently used or might use any other medicines, including medicines obtained without a prescription.
How does Celluvisc affect contact lenses and driving?
If you wear contact lenses, these should be removed before using Celluvisc and can be put back again 15 minutes after you have applied your drops. Celluvisc may cause short-lasting blurring of vision typically lasting 1-15 minutes, so if you do experience temporary blurring, do not drive or use machines until your sight is clear.
Can Celluvisc be used during pregnancy or breast-feeding?
Yes, Celluvisc can be used during pregnancy and breast-feeding.

While used containers can be safely disposed of as household waste, you can do your part to protect the environment by returning unused containers to your pharmacist or chatting to them about how you can dispose of containers responsibly.
