Doublebase Once Emollient Gel is a fragrance-free, dye-free emollient gel supplied in a 100g tube, for managing dry skin conditions such as eczema, psoriasis and ichthyosis. It is formulated to moisturise skin for 24 hours after a single application, so it is designed to be applied once a day rather than reapplied repeatedly.

Why does Doublebase Once carry a fire safety warning?

Doublebase Once contains paraffin-based emollient oils. Fabric such as clothing, bedding or dressings that has been in contact with the gel burns more easily and is a serious fire hazard, so you should not smoke or go near naked flames while using this product. Washing affected fabric reduces the risk but does not remove it completely.

Can I use Doublebase Once during pregnancy or while breastfeeding?

Yes. Doublebase Once can be used during pregnancy and while breastfeeding. Its ingredients have a long history of use in similar products without reported problems, although formal safety trials have not been conducted specifically for this use.

Can I use Doublebase Once alongside other creams or treatments for my skin?

Yes. Doublebase Once can be used in addition to other emollients or treatments prescribed for dry skin. If applying another treatment to the same area, use the two products alternately, allowing time for each to soak in before applying the next.

What should I do if this product is accidentally swallowed?

If swallowed, the oily ingredients in Doublebase Once may cause diarrhoea. Treat this the same way as any other case of diarrhoea, drink plenty of water, and do not try to induce vomiting.

Therapeutic ingredients: Isopropyl myristate 15% w/w and liquid paraffin 15% w/w (emollient oils).

Other ingredients: Glycerol (humectant), steareth-21, macrogol stearyl ether (a soap substitute), ethylhexylglycerin, 1,2-hexanediol, caprylyl glycol, povidone, trolamine, carbomer and purified water.

Additional information: Doublebase Once contains no dye or fragrance.

Smooth the gel over and around dry skin areas once a day, or as often as needed, applying in the same direction as hair growth and allowing any excess to soak in without rubbing vigorously.

• Doublebase Once can also be used as a soap substitute instead of normal soap when washing.
• If applying another cream or treatment to the same area of skin, use the two products alternately, allowing time for each to soak in before applying the next.
• If you occasionally forget an application, simply continue using the gel as normal next time it is needed.
• Store below 25 degrees C, do not freeze, and do not use after the use-by date shown on the tube.
