Description
GlucoRx X6 Blood Glucose Test Strips are single-use strips for checking blood glucose with the GlucoRx X6 Multi-Functional Monitoring System. Each test needs only a 0.5 µL blood sample and the result appears in 5 seconds,.
Key Features
- Small blood sample: Each test needs 0.5 µL of blood.
- 5-second result: The meter counts down for 5 seconds before showing the glucose reading.
- Wide measuring range: The system measures blood glucose from 0.56 to 44.4 mmol/L.
- For use with the X6 meter: The strips are made for the GlucoRx X6 Multi-Functional Monitoring System, and other strips can give inaccurate results with this meter.
- Home and professional use: People testing at home use fingertip capillary blood, and healthcare professionals can also test venous, arterial and newborn blood.
Which meter do GlucoRx X6 Blood Glucose Test Strips work with?
They work with the GlucoRx X6 Multi-Functional Monitoring System. That meter also tests ketone, lactate, total cholesterol, triglycerides and uric acid, but each of those uses its own X6 test strips. Use the glucose strips only for blood glucose tests.
Can these test strips be used to diagnose diabetes?
No. The system is not intended for diagnosing or screening for diabetes. It measures blood glucose so that you and your healthcare professional can monitor it and adjust your treatment plan.
Can I use them for newborns?
Healthcare professionals can use the strips to test newborn blood. Home use is limited to capillary blood taken from the fingertip.
Usage and Instructions
Wash and dry your hands before testing, then follow these steps with the GlucoRx X6 meter:
- Insert a test strip fully into the meter's strip slot, contact bars first and front side facing up, until it goes no further. The meter runs several self-checks and then shows a flashing blood drop symbol.
- Press the right scroll button to choose a measuring mode if needed: Gen (any time of day), AC (before a meal) or PC (after a meal).
- Prick your fingertip with a new sterile lancet, wipe off the first drop of blood, then squeeze out a second drop.
- Touch the drop to the absorbent hole of the strip at a tilted angle until the confirmation window is completely full. Do not smear the blood or add more blood to the same strip.
- Wait for the meter to count down. The result appears after 5 seconds and is saved in the meter automatically.
- Press the eject button to remove the used strip, and dispose of it with the used lancet according to local regulations.
Use each strip straight after taking it out of the vial and close the vial immediately. If a strip is not used within 1 minute of insertion, the meter switches off and you need to reinsert the strip. Keep the strips in their original vial only, at 2°C to 30°C and 10% to 90% relative humidity, away from direct sunlight. Do not bend, cut or alter a strip, and do not use strips after their expiry date.
Warnings
Read these test strip instructions and the GlucoRx X6 Owner's Manual before testing:
- Use only GlucoRx X6 Blood Glucose Test Strips with the GlucoRx X6 Multi-Functional Monitoring System. Other strips can produce inaccurate results.
- The strips are for in vitro diagnostic use only (outside the body) and for single use only. Do not use them after the expiry date.
- The system is not intended for diagnosing or screening for diabetes. Your readings are for reference, so ask your doctor to help interpret them and to set a target range that suits you.
- Results may be inaccurate in people with abnormally low blood pressure, in shock or with severe dehydration.
- Capillary blood testing is not advised for people with impaired peripheral circulation, for example in severe dehydration from diabetic ketoacidosis, hyperosmolar non-ketotic coma, shock, decompensated heart failure (NYHA Class IV) or peripheral arterial occlusive disease.
- The strips work for haematocrit levels from 0% to 70%. Ask your healthcare professional if you do not know your haematocrit level.
- Do not test blood glucose during or soon after a xylose absorption test, as xylose in the blood can give falsely high results.
- Paracetamol, ascorbic acid (vitamin C), uric acid and pralidoxime iodide above their stated limiting concentrations may give falsely high results.
- If the meter shows a ketone warning (a result of 15 mmol/L or higher), check your blood ketones if that is part of your diabetes management plan.
- If most of your results are unusually high or low, contact your healthcare professional, because they can be a sign of a serious medical condition.
- Never share the meter, lancets or lancing device. Used lancets and test strips are potentially biohazardous.
- Keep test strips and lancets away from small children. If swallowed, consult a doctor immediately.
