Description
GlucoRx X6 Total Cholesterol Test Strips let you measure your total cholesterol at home with the GlucoRx X6 Multi-Functional Monitoring System. Each strip is individually wrapped and needs a 3.0 µL fingertip blood sample.
Key Features
- Individually wrapped strips: Each of the 10 strips comes in its own wrapper.
- 3.0 µL blood sample: Each test uses a small fingertip blood sample.
- Result in 60 seconds: The meter displays your total cholesterol in less than 60 seconds.
- Measuring range: The system reads total cholesterol from 2.5 to 10.3 mmol/L.
- For use with the X6 meter: The strips are designed for the GlucoRx X6 Multi-Functional Monitoring System and are not for use with other meters.
Which meter do these cholesterol strips work with?
They work only with the GlucoRx X6 Multi-Functional Monitoring System. Using other strips with the meter can give inaccurate results, and using the X6 strips as directed keeps the system covered by the manufacturer's warranty.
Can I use these strips to diagnose a cholesterol problem?
No. The system should not be used for diagnosis or screening of diseases. Your healthcare professional can advise which values are right for you, and at least two measurements on separate occasions should be made before any medical decision, because a single reading may not reflect your usual cholesterol level.
Can these strips be used on newborns?
No. X6 total cholesterol test strips must not be used for testing newborns.
Usage and Instructions
"Wash and dry your hands before testing. Each time you start a new box of cholesterol strips, set the meter with the correct code and check that the code shown on the meter matches the code on the strip packaging before you test. Follow the calibration instructions in the test strip insert.
- Insert a test strip fully into the meter's strip slot until it goes no further. The meter runs several self-checks.
- Prick your fingertip with a new sterile lancet, wipe off the first drop of blood, then squeeze out a second drop.
- Touch the drop to the absorbent hole of the strip until the confirmation window is completely full. Do not smear the blood, and do not add more blood after the drop has moved away from the strip.
- Wait for the countdown. Your total cholesterol result appears in less than 60 seconds and is saved in the meter automatically.
- Remove the strip to switch the meter off, and dispose of the used strip and lancet according to local regulations.
Use each strip immediately after unwrapping it. Store strips at 2°C to 30°C and 10% to 85% relative humidity, away from direct sunlight, and do not use them after their expiry date. If a strip comes in a vial, keep it in the original vial with the cap closed, and use it within 6 months of first opening."
Warnings
"Read this insert and the GlucoRx X6 Owner's Manual before testing:
- Use only GlucoRx X6 Total Cholesterol Test Strips with the GlucoRx X6 Multi-Functional Monitoring System.
- Do not use the strips to test newborns.
- The system should not be used to diagnose or screen for disease. Ask your doctor to interpret your results and to set a target range that suits you.
- If a result is very different from what you expect, or unusually high or low, repeat the test with a new strip or contact your healthcare professional.
- Results may be inaccurate in people with abnormally low blood pressure or in shock.
- Capillary blood testing is not advised for people with impaired peripheral circulation, as results may not reflect the true cholesterol level.
- The strips work for haematocrit levels from 20% to 60%. Ask your healthcare professional if you do not know your haematocrit level.
- The strips are for in vitro diagnostic use only (outside the body) and for single use only. Do not use them after the expiry date.
- Never share the meter, lancets or lancing device. Used lancets and test strips are potentially biohazardous.
- Keep test strips and lancets away from young children. If swallowed, consult a doctor immediately."
