Description
Hedrin 4% Lotion 50ml is a treatment for the eradication of head lice infestations in adults and children aged 6 months and over.
It contains dimeticone 4% w/w in a clear, colourless cutaneous solution. Dimeticone works by a physical process, coating the lice and disrupting their ability to manage water, rather than acting as a conventional insecticide.
Hedrin is applied thoroughly to dry hair and the scalp, left on for at least 8 hours or overnight, then washed out with normal shampoo. A second application is required after 7 days to kill lice that may have hatched since the first treatment.
Children under 6 months of age should only be treated under medical supervision.
Ingredients
Main ingredients: Dimeticone 4% w/w. Excipients: Cyclomethicone 5.
Usage and Instructions
Hedrin 4% Lotion is used for the eradication of head lice infestations.
Adults and children aged 6 months and over:
Apply sufficient lotion evenly to dry hair, making sure that the entire scalp and hair are fully covered.
Work the lotion through the hair from the roots to the tips so that it is distributed evenly.
Allow the hair to dry naturally.
Leave Hedrin on the hair for at least 8 hours or overnight.
Wash the hair with normal shampoo, rinse thoroughly with water and dry.
Repeat the treatment after 7 days. This second application is important because eggs may hatch after the first treatment.
Children under 6 months of age should only be treated under medical supervision.
Hedrin is for external use only.
If live lice are still present after the second treatment, or if head lice are persistent or keep recurring, speak to a pharmacist.
If other members of the household have live head lice, they should also be checked and any confirmed cases treated at the same time.
Warnings
Do not use Hedrin if you are allergic to dimeticone, Cyclomethicone 5 or any of the other ingredients.
