Description
Ovesse 1 mg/g vaginal cream is a local estriol treatment used to relieve common menopausal vaginal symptoms including dryness, soreness, irritation, itching, burning and discomfort during intercourse. Usage and Instructions
Apply using the supplied applicator.
Initial dose: one applicator filled to the red ring once daily for two weeks.
Maintenance dose: one applicator filled to the red ring twice weekly with three to four days between doses.
For vaginal use only. Clean the applicator with warm soapy water after each use.
Do not boil.
Warnings
Do not use if you have or have had breast cancer, ovarian or womb cancer, unexplained vaginal bleeding, blood clots, liver disease, porphyria or allergy to any ingredient.
Stop use and seek medical advice if you develop new vaginal bleeding, itching, symptoms of infection or signs of an allergic reaction.
Discuss use with a healthcare professional if you have risk factors for blood clots, endometrial conditions, liver disorders, diabetes, migraines, lupus, asthma or high triglycerides.
Not suitable during pregnancy or breast-feeding.
If undergoing surgery, you may need to stop treatment four to six weeks beforehand.
Side Effects
Common effects include vaginal irritation, itching or discharge, spotting or bleeding, headache, nausea, breast tenderness and skin reactions.
Rare but serious allergic reactions may occur.
Systemic risks associated with higher dose HRT, such as blood clots, stroke or gallbladder disease, are considered lower with local vaginal therapy but cannot be ruled out.
