Paracetamol Noumed 500mg 32 Tablets contain paracetamol 500mg per tablet, an analgesic and antipyretic used to relieve pain and reduce fever.

Paracetamol can be used for the relief of headache including migraine and tension headache, toothache, backache, rheumatic and muscular pain, period pain, sore throat, fever, and the aches and pains associated with colds and flu. It may also be used for the symptomatic relief of pain associated with non-serious arthritis.

The tablets are taken by mouth as required, with at least four hours between doses. Adults and adolescents aged over 16 years can take one or two tablets per dose, up to four times a day.

This is a pharmacy medicine. A pharmacist can provide advice about its appropriate use, particularly if you take other medicines or have an existing medical condition.

Paracetamol Noumed 500mg Tablets are used to relieve mild to moderate pain and fever, including headache, migraine and tension headache, toothache, backache, rheumatic and muscular pain, period pain, sore throat, and the fever, aches and pains associated with colds and flu. They may also be used for the symptomatic relief of pain due to non-serious arthritis.

Adults and adolescents over 16 years: Take one or two tablets up to four times a day as required. Do not take more than eight tablets (4000mg) in 24 hours.

Children aged 12 to 15 years: Take one to one and a half tablets up to four times a day as required.

Children aged 10 to 11 years: Take one tablet up to four times a day as required.

Children aged 6 to 9 years: Take half a tablet up to four times a day as required.

Do not give to children under 6 years of age.

• Leave at least four hours between doses.
• Do not take more than four doses in any 24-hour period.
• The tablets are for oral use.
• Do not take for longer than 3 days without consulting a doctor.
• Do not exceed the recommended dose.
• Do not take this medicine with any other product containing paracetamol.
• If symptoms persist, seek medical advice.

A lower maximum daily dose may be required if you weigh less than 50kg, have certain liver problems, regularly drink excessive amounts of alcohol, are dehydrated or are chronically malnourished. Ask a doctor or pharmacist for advice in these circumstances.

Do not take Paracetamol Noumed 500mg Tablets if you are allergic to paracetamol or any of the other ingredients in the tablets.

Do not take with any other medicine containing paracetamol. Taking more than the recommended amount can cause serious liver damage.

Speak to a doctor or pharmacist before taking this medicine if you:

• Have liver problems.
• Have kidney problems.
• Have Gilbert's syndrome.
• Regularly drink excessive amounts of alcohol.
• Have glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase deficiency.
• Have haemolytic anaemia.
• Are dehydrated or chronically malnourished.
• Weigh less than 50kg.
• Have a condition associated with reduced glutathione levels.
• Are taking medicines that may affect liver function.

If you have persistent headaches, speak to a doctor.

If you have non-serious arthritis and need to take painkillers every day, seek medical advice.

Interactions: Tell your doctor or pharmacist about medicines you are taking. Paracetamol may interact with medicines including metoclopramide or domperidone, colestyramine, and anticoagulants such as warfarin or other coumarins when paracetamol is taken regularly for prolonged periods.

Pregnancy: Paracetamol can be used during pregnancy if clinically needed. It should be used at the lowest effective dose for the shortest possible time and at the lowest necessary frequency.

Breastfeeding: Paracetamol passes into breast milk, but not in clinically significant amounts. It may be used during breastfeeding.

Driving and using machines: Paracetamol is not expected to affect your ability to drive or use machinery.

Overdose: If you take too much paracetamol, seek immediate medical advice even if you feel well, because of the risk of delayed, serious liver damage.
