Almus Paracetamol Oral Suspension 120mg/5ml From 2+ Months is a sugar free, strawberry flavoured oral suspension containing paracetamol 120 mg in each 5 ml.
It is used to relieve mild to moderate pain and reduce fever in babies and children. It can be used for headache, toothache, earache, teething, sore throat, colds and influenza, aches and pains, and fever following immunisation.
The suspension is suitable for children from 2 months to 6 years, subject to the specific dosing restrictions for babies aged 2 to 3 months. Age appropriate doses can be given up to four times in 24 hours, with at least 4 hours between doses.

Usage and Instructions
Almus Paracetamol Oral Suspension 120mg/5ml is used for the relief of mild to moderate pain and fever, including headache, toothache, earache, teething, sore throat, colds and influenza, aches and pains, and fever following immunisation.
For oral use only. Shake the bottle for at least 10 seconds before use. Measure each dose using the measuring device supplied with the medicine.
Fever following vaccination at 2, 3 and 4 months: Give 2.5 ml. This dose may be given up to four times in 24 hours, leaving at least 4 hours between doses. If your baby still needs this medicine two days after vaccination, speak to a doctor or pharmacist.
Pain and other causes of fever in babies aged 2 to 3 months: Only give if the baby weighs more than 4 kg and was born after 37 weeks. Give 2.5 ml. If necessary, a second 2.5 ml dose may be given after 4 to 6 hours. Do not give more than two doses. If the baby is still feverish after two doses, speak to a doctor or pharmacist.
Children aged 3 to 6 months: Give 2.5 ml up to four times in 24 hours.
Children aged 6 to 24 months: Give 5 ml up to four times in 24 hours.
Children aged 2 to 4 years: Give 7.5 ml up to four times in 24 hours.
Children aged 4 to 6 years: Give 10 ml up to four times in 24 hours.
Leave at least 4 hours between doses and do not give more than four doses in any 24 hour period.
Do not give to babies under 2 months of age.
Do not give this medicine for more than 3 days without speaking to a doctor or pharmacist.
If a dose is forgotten, give the next dose when needed provided that at least 4 hours have passed since the previous dose. Do not give a double dose.
If your child does not get better, or you are unsure about the cause of their illness, speak to a doctor or pharmacist.
Warnings
Do not give this medicine if your child is allergic to paracetamol or any of the other ingredients.
Do not give any other medicine containing paracetamol at the same time. Paracetamol is present in many pain relief and cold and flu medicines, so check the ingredients carefully.
Do not give to a baby under 2 months of age.
For pain or fever in babies aged 2 to 3 months, do not give this medicine if the baby weighs less than 4 kg or was born before 37 weeks unless advised by a healthcare professional.
Speak to a doctor or pharmacist before use if your child has serious liver or kidney problems or has been diagnosed with an intolerance to certain sugars.
This medicine contains maltitol liquid. If you or your child have been told that you have an intolerance to some sugars, speak to a doctor before use.
Sodium methyl parahydroxybenzoate (E219) and sodium propyl parahydroxybenzoate (E217) may cause allergic reactions, which may be delayed.
Tell a doctor or pharmacist about other medicines being taken. Paracetamol may interact with medicines including warfarin, colestyramine, metoclopramide, domperidone and anticonvulsants used for epilepsy.
If an adult takes this medicine, drinking large amounts of alcohol may increase the risk of side effects.
Pregnancy and breastfeeding: Ask a doctor or pharmacist for advice before use. If necessary, paracetamol can be used during pregnancy at the lowest effective dose for the shortest possible time.
Paracetamol is unlikely to affect the ability to drive or operate machinery.
Seek medical advice immediately if too much medicine is taken, even if the person seems well. Paracetamol overdose can cause delayed, serious liver damage.
If the illness is accompanied by a rash, breathing difficulties, diarrhoea, excessive tiredness or lethargy, speak to a doctor straight away before giving further doses.
Stop use and seek medical help immediately if a serious allergic reaction or severe skin reaction occurs.
