Usage and Instructions
For adults and individuals over 12 years of age:
Take two tablets either by sucking or chewing, ideally an hour after meals and before bedtime.
If experiencing heartburn or stomach pain, tablets can also be taken in between meals.
Do not exceed a daily limit of 8 g calcium carbonate, which is equivalent to 10 tablets in a day.
Warnings
Rennie should not be given to individuals who:
• Have an allergy to any component of the product.
• Suffer from elevated calcium levels in the blood or conditions that lead to such elevations.
• Have kidney stones made up of calcium deposits.
• Are experiencing severe kidney dysfunction.
• Have abnormally low phosphate levels in the blood.
Warnings:
• Avoid using the product for extended periods.
• Do not take more than the recommended dosage. If symptoms continue or only partially resolve after 14 days, seek medical advice.
• Those with mild to moderate kidney issues should use Rennie with caution (see section 4.3 - the product is contraindicated for those with severe kidney issues). Regular monitoring of blood calcium, phosphate, and magnesium levels is necessary for such patients.
• Taking high doses for extended periods can lead to adverse effects like elevated calcium and magnesium levels in the blood, and milk-alkali syndrome, especially in those with compromised kidney function.
• Rennie shouldn't be administered to patients with high levels of calcium in their urine (refer to section 4.3). Continuous use can increase the chance of kidney stone development.
• Refrain from consuming this product alongside significant quantities of milk or other dairy items.
• Individuals with inherited issues like fructose intolerance, glucose-galactose malabsorption, or sucrase-isomaltase deficiency should avoid this medication.
