What 500,000+ customers say about medino:
Description
The Eye Doctor Stye Hygiene Kit is a 2-step eyelid care kit that pairs a reusable microwaveable Antibacterial Stye Relief Compress with a Hypochlorous Eyelid Cleansing Spray. The compress is intended to relieve the symptoms of styes, chalazions and cysts, and the spray cleanses the eyelids and lashes, so one kit covers both the warm compress and the eyelid cleaning.
Key Features
- Two products in one kit: The kit contains The Eye Doctor Antibacterial Stye Relief Compress and The Eye Doctor Hypochlorous Eyelid Cleansing Spray.
- Microwaveable, reusable compress: You heat the compress in the microwave and wear it over closed eyes for 7-10 minutes.
- Antibacterial coating on the compress: The outer surface is coated with Sterileyes, which the manufacturer says is clinically proven to reduce bacteria remaining on the compress surface by up to 99.9% after use.
- pH-balanced eyelid spray: The Hypochlorous Eyelid Cleansing Spray is a pH-balanced cleanser for the eyelids, eyelashes and the delicate skin around the eye.
- Preservative-free and alcohol-free spray: The manufacturer lists the spray as free of preservatives and alcohol.
Can I use the Stye Hygiene Kit if I wear contact lenses?
Remove your contact lenses before using the compress. The manufacturer's instructions say contact lens wearers must take their lenses out before using it.
Can I use the compress cold?
Yes. Place the compress in a plastic bag and freeze it for at least 2 hours to use it cold on the eyelids. Let it come back to room temperature before you heat it in the microwave.
Is the compress reusable?
Yes. The compress is reusable but designed for individual use only, so it should not be shared. Never wash it; wipe it clean with a damp cloth.
Ingredients
Hypochlorous Eyelid Cleansing Spray: Aqua, Hypochlorous Acid, Phosphoric Acid.
Antibacterial Stye Relief Compress: The outer surface is coated with Sterileyes. Its active ingredient is a biocide based on silver salt / silver chloride. The compress may contain latex rubber.
Usage and Instructions
Antibacterial Stye Relief Compress
- Heat in the microwave only, taking care when you remove it, and do not overheat. For a 0 - 850W microwave, heat for a maximum of 20 seconds. For a 851W - 1000W microwave, heat for a maximum of 15 seconds.
- Touch the compress to the inside of your wrist to check the temperature before you place it on your closed eyes. If it feels too hot, wait 1 to 2 minutes for it to cool.
- Tie the strap around your head, adjust it for comfort and sit back for 7-10 minutes.
- After the heat, massage each eyelid 3-4 times with the tip of your index or middle finger, moving away from the inner corner of the eye. For the upper eyelid, slide your finger down from the eyebrow towards the lashes. For the lower eyelid, slide your finger upward towards the lashes. Wipe away any secretions with an eyelid wipe or a clean tissue.
Most people should benefit from using the compress and eyelid massage twice a day for two weeks. Once symptoms ease, reduce this to once a day, then a couple of times a week as needed. To clean the compress, wipe it with a damp cloth without detergents, and store it in a dry place away from dust and allergens.
Hypochlorous Eyelid Cleansing Spray
Spray onto a gauze or cotton pad and gently wipe over closed eyelids, eyelashes and eyebrows, or along the eyelid margin with a gentle back and forth horizontal motion. Do not use the same pad for both eyes. You can also spray it directly onto closed eyes. Leave to dry naturally. Use 2-3 times a day, or as necessary. The spray is not intended for use as a make-up remover. Use within 3 months of opening, and do not store it above 28 degrees Celsius or in direct sunlight.
