Usage and Instructions
Adults and elderly - prevention of iron-deficiency anaemia: one tablet daily.
Treatment of iron-deficiency anaemia: one tablet two to three times daily.
Swallow whole with water. Do not suck, chew or keep the tablet in the mouth. Do not take with tea, milk or eggs. Treatment should not continue for more than three months after the anaemia is controlled,
Warnings
- Do not take if you are allergic to ferrous sulfate or any of the other ingredients.
- Do not take if you have an iron-storage disorder, active stomach ulcer, inflammatory bowel condition, haemolytic anaemia, repeated blood transfusions, or if you are already taking another iron-containing medicine.
- Speak to a doctor or pharmacist before taking if you have:
- Had part or all of your stomach removed.
- A history of stomach ulcers.
- Diabetes.
- Inflammatory bowel disease.
- Diverticular disease.
- Iron overload.
- Narrowing of the intestines.
