Description
Accord Ferrous Sulphate 200mg 28 Tablets are iron supplements specially crafted to address and deter iron-deficiency anaemia. Ideal for adults and adolescents grappling with low iron levels due to dietary reasons, blood loss, or heightened requirements like pregnancy, these tablets, under medical observation, deliver 200mg ferrous sulphate, equating to roughly 65mg elemental iron. This aids in fostering healthy red blood cell production and maintaining haemoglobin levels.
Key Features
- Clinically established iron therapy: Extensively utilised for iron-deficiency anaemia, with proven effectiveness in iron level restoration.
- Convenient monthly supply: A packet of 28 tablets ensures consistent daily dosage adherence as per prescriber advice.
- Trusted Accord brand: A UK-licensed generic medicine adhering to quality, safety, and consistency standards.
What is Accord Ferrous Sulphate 200mg 28 Tablets used for?
Accord Ferrous Sulphate 200mg Tablets are used for the treatment and prevention of iron-deficiency anaemia, a condition where the body lacks enough iron to produce adequate haemoglobin. By replenishing iron stores, these tablets help support normal red blood cell production and oxygen transport throughout the body.
Who might benefit from taking this iron supplement?
These tablets are often suitable for adults and adolescents with diagnosed iron deficiency, including those whose low iron is due to blood loss, limited dietary intake or increased requirements. People under specialist care, such as pregnant or breastfeeding women, may also be advised to use ferrous sulphate to correct anaemia when recommended by a healthcare professional.
How does this product compare with other iron supplements?
Ferrous sulphate 200mg is a standard, evidence-based formulation used widely in UK clinical practice for anaemia correction. Unlike some lower-strength over-the-counter iron products, each tablet delivers a defined dose equivalent to about 65mg elemental iron, which is typically appropriate for therapeutic use under medical supervision.
What should I consider before deciding if this product is right for me?
Since iron-deficiency anaemia can have different causes, a healthcare professional should confirm that low iron is present before treatment. After diagnosis, Accord Ferrous Sulphate 200mg 28 Tablets offer a regulated, pharmacy-supplied option with a clearly stated strength, allowing tailored dosing to suit individual needs and planned treatment duration.
