Bell's Healthcare Hayfever & Allergy Relief 10mg 14 Tablets contain loratadine 10 mg, an antihistamine used to relieve the symptoms of allergies.
They can be used to relieve symptoms associated with allergic rhinitis, including hay fever, such as sneezing, a runny or itchy nose, and burning or itchy eyes. They can also help relieve the itching and redness associated with urticaria, commonly known as hives or nettle rash.
Each tablet contains 10 mg loratadine and is taken once daily. The tablets are suitable for adults and children over 2 years of age who weigh more than 30 kg.
Ingredients
Main ingredients: Loratadine 10 mg per tablet.
Excipients: lactose monohydrate, microcrystalline cellulose, maize starch, magnesium stearate.
Usage and Instructions
Bell's Healthcare Hayfever & Allergy Relief 10mg Tablets are used to relieve symptoms associated with allergic rhinitis, including hay fever, such as sneezing, a runny or itchy nose, and burning or itchy eyes. They can also be used to relieve the itching and redness associated with urticaria, also known as hives or nettle rash.
Adults and children over 12 years: Take one tablet once daily.
Children aged 2 to 12 years who weigh more than 30 kg: Take one tablet once daily.
Children under 2 years, or children aged 2 to 12 years who weigh 30 kg or less: Do not give these tablets. Other formulations are more suitable.
Maximum dose: Do not take more than the recommended dose of one tablet daily.
If you have severe liver problems, your doctor or pharmacist may advise you to take the recommended dose every other day.
The score line is only intended to help break the tablet if you have difficulty swallowing it whole.
If you forget to take a dose, take it as soon as you remember and then continue as usual. Do not take a double dose to make up for a forgotten dose.
If you take more tablets than recommended, speak to a doctor or pharmacist straight away. Symptoms of overdose may include headache, a rapid heartbeat or sleepiness.
Speak to a doctor if your symptoms do not improve or if they become worse.
Warnings
Do not take Bell's Healthcare Hayfever & Allergy Relief 10mg Tablets if you are allergic to loratadine or any of the other ingredients in this medicine.
Speak to a doctor, pharmacist or nurse before taking this medicine if you have liver disease or serious liver problems.
Children: Do not give these tablets to children under 2 years of age or to children aged 2 to 12 years who weigh 30 kg or less. A more suitable formulation should be used.
If you are due to have skin tests for allergies, stop taking this medicine for two days before the tests, as loratadine may affect the results.
Tell your doctor, pharmacist or nurse if you are taking, have recently taken or might take any other medicines. The side effects of loratadine may be increased by medicines that affect some of the liver enzymes involved in its metabolism.
Pregnancy: As a precautionary measure, it is preferable to avoid using this medicine during pregnancy.
Breastfeeding: Do not take this medicine while breastfeeding because loratadine passes into breast milk.
Loratadine has not been shown to increase the effects of alcohol.
At the recommended dose, loratadine is not expected to cause drowsiness or reduced alertness. However, very rarely some people may experience drowsiness. If this happens, do not drive or use machines.
This medicine contains lactose. If you have been told that you have an intolerance to some sugars, speak to your doctor before taking it.
Seek medical attention immediately if you experience difficulty breathing or swelling of the face, neck, tongue or throat, as these may be signs of a severe allergic reaction.
If you take more than the recommended dose, speak to a doctor or pharmacist straight away.
