How do Clarityn allergy tablets work?
Clarityn allergy tablets and Clarityn rapide allergy tablets both contain the active ingredient loratadine, which is a non-sedating antihistamine. Loratadine works by blocking histamine receptors, which prevents the actions of histamine, a substance produced by the body when it reacts to a foreign substance. Histamine triggers a chain reaction that results in allergic symptoms such as itchy eyes, sneezing and a runny nose. By blocking histamine receptors, loratadine stops this chain reaction.

What is hay fever?
Hay fever, also known as allergic rhinitis, is a condition that causes symptoms similar to a cold, such as congestion, sneezing, itchy eyes, sinus pressure, and a runny nose. However, it is not caused by a virus, but rather by an allergic response to an indoor or outdoor substance that the body identifies as harmful. Common allergens that can trigger hay fever include pollen, dust mites, and pet dander. Hay fever can have a significant impact on your quality of life, but there are ways to manage the symptoms by avoiding triggers and finding the right treatment.
What are common symptoms of hay fever?
