How do I choose the right size?

Derma Silk adult gloves are sized by middle finger length: S is 6cm, M is 7cm and L is 8cm. Measure your middle finger and choose the size that matches. The manufacturer says the gloves need to be close fitting and in contact with the skin to be fully effective.

Can I wear Derma Silk gloves with my emollient?

How do I wash Derma Silk gloves?

The manufacturer advises a delicate machine wash at 30 degrees with a non-biological detergent, using a net bag to stop the fabric snagging. Hand washing is also possible. Do not bleach, tumble dry or use fabric softeners.

Do I need more than one pair?

The manufacturer recommends rotating several garments rather than washing and wearing the same one continuously, so a second pair can be useful if you expect to wear them often.

1. Apply your usual emollient and allow it to absorb fully into the skin. Thick emollient left on the skin forms a barrier that reduces effectiveness.
2. Put the gloves on. They should fit close to the skin, as they work best in contact with it.
3. Wash them regularly. Machine wash on a delicate cycle at 30 degrees with a non-biological detergent, with the gloves in a net bag. Hand washing is an alternative.
4. Rinse, then dry flat on a towel. Do not dry over direct heat such as a radiator.

Do not bleach, tumble dry or use fabric softeners or conditioners. If you wear the gloves often, rotate more than one pair rather than washing and wearing the same pair continuously. In hard water areas, the manufacturer advises soaking overnight in a bicarbonate of soda solution (2 tablespoons per litre) before washing. If needed, iron on a cool setting.
