Frontline Homegard Spray 500ml is a household flea spray in a 500ml aerosol, made to treat the home rather than your pet. It is used on non-washable furniture and home textiles such as carpets, rugs, mats, sofas and armchairs, and in the car if your pet travels in it. It kills fleas, flea larvae and ticks and stops flea eggs from hatching, so it can help clear an infestation from the places your pet spends time.

No. Permethrin is a substance toxic to cats above certain concentrations. Do not use it on cats or other pets, do not use it on cat bedding or baskets, and keep pets in a separate room while you spray. Keep cats away from treated surfaces until they are dry.

Do I still need to treat my pet for fleas?

Yes. Frontline Homegard is for use in your home only and helps speed up removal of an existing infestation. It is recommended that you also treat your cat or dog with a flea and tick treatment for your pet, such as Frontline Plus or Frontline Spot-On, at the same time.

For use in the home only. Do not use directly on animals. To get on top of a flea infestation:

1. Treat all dogs and cats with a flea and tick treatment made for pets, such as Frontline Plus or Frontline Spot-On.
2. Wash all pet bedding at 60 degrees C and vacuum the whole house.
3. Remove all pets and children from the area, then spray one room at a time, including under furniture and in the car and garage if your pet goes there. Use sparingly on wooden or glossy surfaces to avoid spotting.
4. Leave the area for 60 minutes, then open doors and windows to air the room.
5. Vacuum a second time, then continue to vacuum daily for 7 to 10 days.
