Ingredients

Usage and Instructions
Galpharm Paracetamol 500mg Capsules are used for the relief of mild to moderate pain including headache, migraine, toothache, nerve pain, sore throat and period pains. They are also used for the symptomatic relief of sprains and strains, rheumatic pains, sciatica, lumbago, fibrositis, muscular aches and pains, joint swelling and stiffness, flu, feverishness and feverish colds.
Swallow the capsules whole with water. Do not chew.
Adults, elderly people and children over 16 years: take 2 capsules every 4 to 6 hours, as required.
Do not take more than 4 doses, equal to 8 capsules, in any 24 hour period.
Children aged 12 to 15 years: take 1 capsule every 4 to 6 hours, as required.
Children aged 12 to 15 years must not take more than 4 doses, equal to 4 capsules, in any 24 hour period.
Do not give to children under 12 years.
Do not take a dose more often than every 4 hours. Do not take for more than 3 days unless instructed by a doctor. Do not take more medicine than the label tells you to. If you do not get better, talk to a doctor.
Warnings
Do not take Galpharm Paracetamol 500mg Capsules if you are allergic to paracetamol or any of the other ingredients.
Do not give this medicine to children under 12 years.
Speak to a doctor or pharmacist before taking this medicine if you are breastfeeding, have kidney or liver problems including alcoholic liver disease, or are alcohol dependent.
During treatment, tell your doctor straight away if you have severe illnesses, including severe renal impairment or sepsis, suffer from malnutrition or chronic alcoholism, or are also taking flucloxacillin. A serious condition called metabolic acidosis has been reported in these situations when paracetamol is used at regular doses for a prolonged period or when taken with flucloxacillin.
Symptoms of metabolic acidosis may include serious breathing difficulties with deep rapid breathing, drowsiness, nausea and vomiting. This condition must have urgent treatment.
If necessary, paracetamol can be used during pregnancy. Use the lowest possible dose that reduces pain or fever, for the shortest time possible. Contact your doctor or midwife if the pain or fever is not reduced, or if you need to take the medicine more often.
See a doctor or pharmacist before taking this medicine if you are taking colestyramine, metoclopramide, domperidone, carbamazepine, warfarin or other coumarins, or flucloxacillin. This is not a complete list of possible interactions.
Do not take anything else containing paracetamol while taking this medicine.
This medicine contains less than 1 mmol sodium (23 mg) per 2 capsules, meaning it is essentially sodium-free.
Talk to a doctor at once if you take too much of this medicine, even if you feel well, because too much paracetamol can cause delayed, serious liver damage. Go to your nearest hospital casualty department and take the medicine and leaflet with you.
