Ingredients
Active ingredient:
Lidocaine 40mg per gram.
Other ingredients:
Benzyl alcohol, carbomers, cholesterol, phospholipon 80H (hydrogenated soy lecithin), polysorbate 80, propylene glycol, trolamine, vitamin E acetate, purified water.
Usage and Instructions
For pain relief when inserting a needle:
1g of cream ≈ 5cm squeezed from the 5g tube or 3.5cm from the 30g tube.
- Adults and children over 1 year:
- Apply 1g to 2.5g over a 2.5cm x 2.5cm area.
- Do not leave on for more than 5 hours.
- Infants (3 months – 1 year):
- Apply no more than 1g.
- Do not leave on for more than 4 hours.
- Infants (1 – 3 months):
- Apply no more than 1g.
- Do not leave on for more than 1 hour.
- Do not use on infants under 1 month old.
Instructions:
- Apply at least 30 minutes before the procedure.
- Spread a uniform layer over the area.
- If advised, cover with a dressing to prevent rubbing.
- Before the procedure, remove the cream with a gauze swab.
For numbing larger areas (adults only):
- Apply 1.5g to 2g per 10cm².
- Maximum total area: 900cm² (e.g., back or thigh).
- Do not exceed the recommended dose.
- Apply 30 to 60 minutes before the procedure.
- Do not use on children under 18 for large areas.
- Wait at least 12 hours before reapplying.
If you use more LMX4 than you should:
- Overdose is unlikely but may cause blurred vision, dizziness, drowsiness, difficulty breathing, trembling, chest pain, or irregular heartbeat.

Warnings
Do not use LMX4 if:
- You are allergic to lidocaine or any of the other ingredients.
- You are allergic to similar local anaesthetics.
- The patient is an infant below one month old.

Important information about ingredients:
- Propylene glycol (75mg per gram) – may cause skin irritation.
