Numark Sildenafil 50mg contains sildenafil, a phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5) inhibitor used to treat erectile dysfunction in adult men aged 18 years and over. Erectile dysfunction, also known as impotence, is when a man cannot get or keep an erection hard enough for satisfactory sexual activity.

Who should not take Numark Sildenafil 50mg?
Do not take Numark Sildenafil 50mg if you do not have an erection problem. It must not be taken with nitrate medicines or nitric oxide donors such as amyl nitrite ("poppers"), riociguat or other guanylate cyclase stimulators, or ritonavir.
It is also not suitable for some men with certain heart, blood vessel, liver, kidney, blood pressure or eye conditions. Check the Patient Information Leaflet and speak to your pharmacist if you are unsure whether this medicine is suitable for you.
This medicine is for adult men aged 18 years and over and should not be used by women.

Usage and Instructions
Numark Sildenafil 50mg is used for the treatment of adult men with erectile dysfunction, which is the inability to achieve or maintain a penile erection sufficient for satisfactory sexual performance. Sexual stimulation is required for sildenafil to be effective.
The recommended starting dose is 50mg. Take one tablet as needed, about one hour before sexual activity. Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.
Do not take sildenafil more than once a day. The maximum recommended dose is 100mg, and doses above 100mg do not increase efficacy. Do not take more tablets than instructed.
Sildenafil can be taken with or without food. However, it may take longer to start working after a heavy meal. The time it takes to work varies from person to person, but it normally takes between half an hour and one hour.
Do not take sildenafil film-coated tablets in combination with sildenafil orodispersible tablets. If the effect feels too strong or too weak, speak to a doctor or pharmacist.
If sildenafil does not help you get an erection, or if your erection does not last long enough to complete sexual intercourse, tell your doctor. If you take more sildenafil than you should, you may experience an increase in side effects and their severity. Contact a doctor if you take more tablets than you should.
Warnings
Do not take Numark Sildenafil 50mg if you are allergic to sildenafil or any of the other ingredients.
Do not take sildenafil if you are taking nitrates, medicines often used for chest pain, because this may cause a dangerous fall in blood pressure. Do not take it with nitric oxide donors such as amyl nitrite, or with riociguat.
Do not take sildenafil if you have a severe heart or liver problem, have recently had a stroke or heart attack, or have low blood pressure. Do not take it if you have certain rare inherited eye diseases such as retinitis pigmentosa, or if you have ever had loss of vision due to non-arteritic anterior ischaemic optic neuropathy.
Talk to a doctor or pharmacist before taking sildenafil if you have sickle cell anaemia, leukaemia, multiple myeloma, a deformity of the penis, Peyronie’s disease, heart problems, a current stomach ulcer, or a bleeding problem such as haemophilia.
Sildenafil should not be given to individuals under 18 years of age. It is not indicated for use by women.
Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking, have recently taken, or might take any other medicines. Sildenafil may interfere with some medicines, especially those used for chest pain. Also tell a doctor or pharmacist if you take sacubitril/valsartan, protease inhibitors for HIV, or alpha-blockers for high blood pressure or prostate enlargement.
Drinking alcohol can temporarily impair your ability to get an erection. You are advised not to drink excessive amounts of alcohol before taking sildenafil.
Sildenafil can cause dizziness and affect vision. Be aware of how you react before driving or using machines.
Sildenafil contains lactose monohydrate. If you have been told you have an intolerance to some sugars, contact your doctor before taking this medicine. It contains less than 1mmol sodium per tablet and is essentially sodium-free.
Stop taking sildenafil and contact a doctor immediately if you experience sudden decrease or loss of vision. Seek immediate medical help if you have symptoms of an allergic reaction, chest pain, an erection lasting more than 4 hours, serious skin reactions, seizures, or fits.
If chest pain occurs during or after intercourse, get into a semi-sitting position and try to relax. Do not use nitrates to treat the chest pain.
Side Effects
Like all medicines, Numark Sildenafil 50mg can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
Serious side effects requiring urgent medical attention
Stop taking sildenafil and seek medical help immediately if you experience any of the following:

Rare reports after marketing
Unstable angina and sudden death have been reported rarely. Most, but not all, men who experienced these effects had heart problems before taking sildenafil. It is not possible to determine whether these events were directly related to sildenafil.
