Description
Peptac Aniseed Liquid 500ml is an antacid liquid formulated to provide relief from the symptoms of gastro-oesophageal reflux disease (GORD), including heartburn, indigestion, acid regurgitation and discomfort in the upper stomach and chest. Designed for adults and children aged six years and over, this product works by neutralising excess stomach acid and forming a protective barrier on top of stomach contents, helping to prevent acid escaping back up the food pipe, which often causes burning sensations and discomfort. This formulation is sugar-free and available in a classic aniseed flavour that many find easy to take, while the generous 500ml size offers extended use for recurring symptoms. With its dual mode of action, Peptac Aniseed Liquid is a practical choice for anyone seeking effective, convenient relief from heartburn and acid indigestion.

What is Peptac Aniseed Liquid used for?
Peptac Aniseed Liquid helps relieve symptoms associated with heartburn, indigestion and gastro-oesophageal reflux, such as burning sensations in the chest, acid regurgitation and stomach discomfort. It is particularly helpful when symptoms occur after eating, when lying down or during nighttime. Its mechanism centres on reducing acidity and forming a soothing layer over stomach contents, which can reduce irritation and improve comfort.
How does Peptac Aniseed Liquid work?
The active ingredients in Peptac Aniseed Liquid work together in a dual-action formula: sodium bicarbonate and calcium carbonate neutralise excess acid in the stomach, while sodium alginate forms a protective gel-like barrier on the stomach contents. This barrier helps prevent stomach acid from rising into the oesophagus, which is a common cause of heartburn and discomfort.
Can Peptac Aniseed Liquid be used during pregnancy?
Yes. This antacid liquid may be used to manage heartburn and indigestion symptoms that occur during pregnancy, as long as it is taken according to the product leaflet and after consulting a doctor or pharmacist. It is sugar-free and generally considered suitable, although individuals with specific health conditions should seek professional advice before use.
Is Peptac Aniseed Liquid sugar-free?
Peptac Aniseed Liquid is sugar-free, making it a suitable option for those who are avoiding sugar for personal or dietary reasons. Sugar-free formulations can be gentler on dental health and more appropriate for people monitoring sugar intake, while still delivering effective relief from acid reflux symptoms.
