What is Peptac Peppermint Liquid used for?
Peptac Peppermint Liquid is used to relieve symptoms of acid reflux, heartburn and general indigestion by targeting excess stomach acid and helping prevent it from travelling up the food pipe. It is categorised as a reflux suppressant and antacid, meaning it works both by forming a protective foam barrier on the stomach contents and by neutralising acid that causes burning and discomfort.
How quickly can Peptac Peppermint Liquid provide relief?
This liquid formulation is designed to act quickly after use. When taken after meals or at bedtime, the active ingredients begin to form the protective layer and neutralise acid soon after swallowing, which can help ease the burning sensations and discomfort associated with heartburn and indigestion.
Is Peptac Peppermint Liquid suitable for children and pregnant women?
Peptac Peppermint Liquid is indicated for adults and children aged 6 years and over. For children between 6 and 12 years, a lower dose is recommended. It is generally considered acceptable during pregnancy and breastfeeding, but individuals should consult a healthcare professional before use, especially if symptoms are persistent.
Does Peptac Peppermint Liquid contain sugar or other additives?
The peppermint-flavoured formula is sugar-free, which may be preferable for those monitoring sugar intake. It also contains inactive ingredients such as preservatives and peppermint oil to support flavour and stability, as detailed in the official product information.
