What 500,000+ customers say about medino:
Description
Suresign 6 Day Early Pregnancy Tests 2 Pack contains two one-step tests that detect the pregnancy hormone hCG (human chorionic gonadotropin) in urine, and can be used as early as 6 days before your missed period (5 days before the day your period is expected). You can hold the test in your urine stream or dip it in a urine sample, so you can use whichever method suits you.
Key Features
- Early testing: The leaflet states the test can be used from 6 days before a missed period, which is 5 days before the day your period is due. It is most accurate on the day your period is due.
- Accuracy by day: In the manufacturer's study, the test was 76% accurate 5 days before the expected period and 96% accurate 4 days before. From 3 days before the expected period it was 99% accurate.
- Detects low hCG levels: The test detects hCG in urine at a concentration of 10 mIU/mL or greater.
- Two ways to test: Hold the absorbent tip in your urine stream, or dip it in urine collected in a clean, dry glass container.
- Result in 3 minutes: A coloured line in the control region shows the test has worked. Leave the test for up to 3 minutes for a line to appear in the test region.
Should I test again if I get a positive result before my period is due?
Yes. The manufacturer advises that if you test positive on a day before your expected period, you should re-test on the day your period is due to confirm the result. See your doctor to confirm pregnancy.
What if the two lines are different shades?
One line may be lighter than the other, and the lines do not have to match. If two distinct coloured lines appear, you are probably pregnant.
What should I do if the result is negative but my period has not started?
A negative result means you are probably not pregnant. If your period does not start within a week of its due date, repeat the test with a new test. If you still get a negative result and your period has not started, see your doctor.
Can medicines or fertility treatment affect the result?
Painkillers, alcohol, antibiotics, hormonal contraceptives such as the contraceptive pill and fertility therapies such as clomiphene citrate should not affect the result. Fertility drugs that contain hCG can give misleading results. They are usually given by injection, and testing too soon after an injection may give a false positive result.
Ingredients
Key components: A rapid lateral flow immunoassay that uses a combination of antibodies, including a monoclonal hCG antibody, to detect hCG in urine.
Usage and Instructions
- Allow the test to reach room temperature (15-30°C).
- Remove the test from the foil pouch and use it within 1 hour. Hold the test by the thumb grip and remove the cap, but do not throw the cap away.
- Either hold the absorbent tip pointing downwards directly in your urine stream for at least 10 seconds until it is thoroughly wet, or urinate into a clean, dry glass container and dip only the absorbent tip into the urine for at least 10 seconds. Do not let urine touch the result window.
- Replace the cap over the absorbent tip, lay the test flat with the result window facing upwards, and start timing.
- Read the result at 3 minutes. Some positive results may appear after 1 minute. Read the result within 10 minutes and ignore any change or any lines that appear after that.
You can test at any time of day, but first morning urine is usually the most concentrated. Do not drink excessively before taking the test.
Reading the result:
- Two distinct coloured lines (one in the control region C and one in the test region T): you are probably pregnant.
- One coloured line in the control region C and no line in the test region T: you are probably not pregnant.
- No coloured line in the control region C, even if a line appears in the test region T: the result is invalid. Repeat the test with a new test.
Dispose of the used test hygienically in domestic waste. Do not freeze the test.
Warnings
Please read the leaflet before testing. The following warnings apply:
- Keep out of the reach of children.
- For in vitro diagnostic use only. Not to be taken internally.
- Do not eat the desiccant.
- The test is not reusable.
- Do not open the foil pouch until you are ready to start the test. Do not use the test if the pouch is torn or damaged, or after the expiry date printed on the foil pouch.
- Do not make any medical decision based on the result of this test without consulting your doctor. A diagnosis of pregnancy should be confirmed by a physician.
- If you have recently been pregnant, even if the pregnancy did not go to full term, a false positive result may be obtained.
- Some conditions other than pregnancy can raise hCG levels, including trophoblastic diseases and certain non-trophoblastic neoplasms (such as testicular tumours, prostate cancer, breast cancer and lung cancer), and can cause a false positive result.
- Drinking too much fluid before testing may dilute your urine and give a false ""not pregnant"" result.
- When hCG levels are very high (above 500,000 mIU/mL), a false negative result can occur.
