What 500,000+ customers say about medino:
Description
Suresign Pregnancy Test Strips 2 Pack contains two pregnancy test strips that detect the pregnancy hormone hCG (human chorionic gonadotropin) in urine. The strips are dipped into a urine sample and can be used from 4 days before your missed period, so you can test early or wait until your period is due.
Key Features
- Testing from 4 days early: The leaflet states the test can be used from 4 days before a missed period. It is most accurate on the first day of the missed period.
- Accuracy: Clinical evaluations showed the test to be more than 99% accurate from the day your missed period is due.
- Detects hCG at 25 mIU/mL or greater: This is the concentration of hCG in urine at which the test is stated to detect pregnancy.
- Dip test with a MAX line: You dip the strip into urine collected in a clean cup, up to the MAX line on the strip. A timer and a collection cup are needed but not provided.
- Result in 3 minutes: A coloured line in the control region shows the test has worked. Leave the test for up to 3 minutes for a line to appear in the test region.
How is this different from Suresign 6 Day Early Pregnancy Tests?
Suresign Pregnancy Test Strips are dipped into a collected urine sample and can be used from 4 days before a missed period. They detect hCG at 25 mIU/mL or greater. Suresign 6 Day Early Pregnancy Tests have an absorbent tip that can be held in the urine stream or dipped, can be used from 6 days before a missed period, and detect hCG at 10 mIU/mL or greater.
What if the two lines are different shades?
One line may be lighter than the other, and the lines do not have to match. If two distinct coloured lines appear, you are probably pregnant.
What should I do if the result is negative but my period has not started?
A negative result means you are probably not pregnant. If your period does not start within a week of its due date, repeat the test with a new test. If you still get a negative result and your period has not started, see your doctor.
Can medicines or fertility treatment affect the result?
Painkillers, alcohol, antibiotics, hormonal contraceptives such as the contraceptive pill and fertility therapies such as clomiphene citrate should not affect the result. Fertility drugs that contain hCG can give misleading results. They are usually given by injection, and testing too soon after an injection may give a false positive result.
Ingredients
Key components: A rapid lateral flow immunoassay that uses a combination of antibodies, including a monoclonal hCG antibody, to detect hCG in urine.
Usage and Instructions
- Allow the test to reach room temperature (15-30°C).
- Remove the test strip from the foil pouch and use it within 1 hour.
- Urinate into a clean, dry cup or container.
- Place the test strip into the urine for 10 seconds. Do not dip it past the MAX line.
- Remove the strip after 10 seconds and start the timer immediately.
- Read the result at 3 minutes. Do not read the result after 10 minutes.
You can test at any time of day, but first morning urine is usually the most concentrated. Do not drink excessively before taking the test.
Reading the result:
- Two distinct coloured lines (one in the control region C and one in the test region T): you are probably pregnant.
- One coloured line in the control region C and no line in the test region T: you are probably not pregnant.
- No coloured line in the control region C, even if a line appears in the test region T: the result is invalid. Repeat the test with a new test strip.
Dispose of the used test hygienically in domestic waste. Do not freeze the test.
Warnings
Please read the leaflet before testing. The following warnings apply:
- Keep out of the reach of children.
- For in vitro diagnostic use only. Not to be taken internally.
- Do not eat the desiccant in the package.
- The test is not reusable.
- Do not open the foil pouch until you are ready to start the test. Do not use the test if the pouch is torn or damaged, or after the expiry date printed on the foil pouch.
- Do not make any medical decision based on the result of this test without consulting your doctor. A diagnosis of pregnancy should be confirmed by a physician.
- If you have recently been pregnant, even if the pregnancy did not go to full term, a false positive result may be obtained.
- Some conditions other than pregnancy can raise hCG levels, including trophoblastic diseases and certain non-trophoblastic neoplasms (such as testicular tumours, prostate cancer, breast cancer and lung cancer), and can cause a false positive result.
- Drinking too much fluid before testing may dilute your urine and give a false ""not pregnant"" result.
- When hCG levels are very high (above 500,000 mIU/mL), a false negative result can occur.
