Lamberts Biome Balance Youth is a live bacteria food supplement for children aged 12 and over, in 30 delayed-release capsules. Each capsule provides 4 billion live bacteria from two strains, Lactobacillus acidophilus and Bifidobacterium bifidum. Lamberts formulated it for teenagers, noting that many do not eat the wide range of plant and fermented foods that help encourage a developing microbiome, and the directions allow 1 to 2 capsules a day.

Lamberts recommends storing it in a cool, dry place protected from light, preferably in a refrigerator. It explains that the bacteria are living microorganisms, and that Lactobacillus acidophilus and Bifidobacterium are particularly vulnerable to heat.

Can my teenager take it if they are on medication?
