What is glutathione?

Lamberts describes glutathione as a tripeptide, a compound made of three amino acids: glutamic acid, cysteine and glycine. It is found in all cells in the body, with the highest concentration in the liver, and the body can make it from those three amino acids.

Why does this capsule also contain amino acids?

Lamberts says cysteine is relatively rare in foods and is the rate-limiting amino acid in the body's glutathione production. The capsule therefore includes cysteine, glutamic acid and glycine alongside the glutathione itself.

Who should not take this supplement?
