Lamberts Vitamin D3 Drops 20ml

Lamberts Vitamin D3 Drops 20ml
Description
This liquid form of vitamin D3 is an easy and convenient way to take vitamin D and an excellent choice for the whole family.
Each drop provides 5μg (200iu) of vitamin D3, with 600 drops per 20ml bottle, so one bottle goes a long way! The vitamin D3 is suspended in a base of virgin olive oil, which is both tasteless and odourless, making it palatable to even the fussiest of people.
Lamberts have also added a mixture of natural vitamin E tocopherols to the oil, an important antioxidant that prevents the oil from going rancid. Plus this has the advantage that it is preservative free.
Suitable for vegetarians.
What's the difference between liquid vitamin D3 and tablets, caplets or capsules?
Vitamin D in liquid form is dissolved in oil and taken in drops, it is the same vitamin as what you get if you would take it in tablet form. There is no one or the other which is better, just a matter of personal preference.
Are there any side effects of taking liquid vitamin D3?
There is a risk associated with taking too much, which can lead to elevated calcium levels. This is because vitamin D promotes calcium absorption in the body. Side effects associated with too much vitamin D include confusion, constipation, excessive thirst, and frequent urination. Make sure you stick to the recommended dose on the packaging
Why is vitamin D3 important?
Vitamin D affects multiple parts of the body’s systems such as regulating the heartbeat, supporting the immune system, and helping the body absorb calcium, magnesium, and phosphate. A deficiency in vitamin D can result in rickets in children and osteomalacia in adults, which in turn may lead to an increased risk of fractures, bone pain and tenderness, muscle weakness, and difficulty walking.
How do I know if I need to supplement my Vitamin D intake?
Supplements should only be used by individuals with a deficiency confirmed by a blood test. Most people can get enough vitamin D from their diet, including foods like oily fish, egg yolks, and mushrooms, and fortified foods like orange juice and milk.
Can’t I just go out in the sun to get my dose of Vitamin D?
Vitamin D is known as the sunshine vitamin, however, frequent exposure to ultraviolet rays increases the risk of skin cancer. Plus, many people spend more time indoors and also sunscreen will have a negative impact on Vitamin D production when worn. For this reason, it's recommended to get vitamin D from a balanced diet and to minimise excessive sun exposure without SPF.
