Phenergan Tablets are used to treat hayfever and other allergic conditions such as nettle rash and hives. They can also be used to treat insomnia in adults and to treat/prevent nausea and vomiting such as travel sickness.

Phenergan Tablets contain promethazine hydrochloride, which works by blocking histamine, the natural substance that your body makes during an allergic reaction. It also works directly on the brain to help you feel more relaxed.

Active Ingredient: Promethazine Hydrochloride 10mg

Other Ingredients: Lactose, Maize Starch, Povidone, Magnesium Stearate, Polyethylene Glycol, Opaspray (contains Titanium Dioxide-E171, Hypromellose-E464 and Indigo Carmine Aluminium Lake Blue-E132) and Hypromellose.

For allergies (such as hay fever, rashes and hives):

Children 5-10 years: Give a single dose of either one or two tablets at night, or one tablet twice a day. Do not give more than 2 tablets (20mg) each day.

Children over 10 years and adults (including the elderly): Start with one tablet twice a day. This may be increased to a maximum of two tablets three times a day if needed.

For treatment and prevention of feeling sick or being sick (such as travel sickness):

Children 5-10 years: Give a single tablet the night before the journey. This may be repeated after 6-8 hours if necessary.

Children over 10 years and adults (including the elderly): Take two tablets the night before the journey. This may be repeated after 6-8 hours if necessary.
