How does Scholl Freeze Away Max Verruca & Wart Remover work?

It uses cryotherapy to freeze the wart or verruca at its base. The cold forms a small blister beneath the growth, cutting off its supply and stopping it from growing. Over the following days, new skin develops while the treated tissue falls away. The nozzle design helps focus treatment only where needed, reducing risk to healthy skin.

Who can use this treatment?

It is suitable for adults and for children aged four years and over. It should not be used by anyone who is pregnant, breastfeeding, diabetic, has poor circulation, or a weakened immune system. Always read and follow all safety advice included in the leaflet before use.

Is Scholl Freeze Away Max easy to use at home?

Does it cause pain or discomfort?

Have a household timer available to time your treatment, as it is essential to time accurately to ensure safe and effective treatment.

1 Attach an applicator bud to the white plastic cap.

2 Place the can upright on a covered table or other sturdy surface.

3 Keeping the can upright and holding as shown, press the cap firmly down for 5 seconds. Do not hold the plastic shield.

4 Remove the cap from the can, with the applicator bud still attached. You must wait for 15 seconds, holding the bud pointing downwards, before applying to the verruca or wart.

5 Ensure the verruca or wart to be treated is facing upwards.

Keeping the applicator bud pointing straight down, lightly place the tip of the bud on the centre of the verruca or wart for a minimum of 30 seconds, but do not apply for longer than 40 seconds. Do not dab. Discard the foam applicator after a single use.

Do not use on children under 4.

Do not use if you are pregnant or breast-feeding.

Do not use if you are diabetic.

Do not apply anywhere on or near your face, armpits, breasts, bottom or genital (sex) area; on birthmarks, moles, warts with hair growing from them, or any other spots; on skin areas that are sensitive, damaged, cut, grazed, diseased or itchy; or at the same time as any other wart or verruca treatment.

Because this treatment can be painful, it is not suitable for everybody. If used on children, it must be operated by an adult.

This product is extremely inflammable, so keep and use away from ignition sources."

As with all freezing methods, this treatment is uncomfortable and sometimes painful. When the frozen area thaws, it may turn red, and the discomfort should fade quite quickly, disappearing completely after a few hours.
