E45 Cream 125g is a fragrance-free moisturising cream that is clinically proven to treat and soothe dry, itching, flaking, chapped, rough and calloused skin, sunburn and detergent hands, and is also used for more serious dry skin conditions such as eczema, dermatitis, ichthyosis and certain dry cases of psoriasis. Its non-greasy formula is designed to leave skin feeling soft and comfortable rather than sticky.

Can I use E45 Cream if I have eczema?
Yes. E45 Cream is licensed for the dry stage of eczema, as well as dermatitis, ichthyosis and certain dry cases of psoriasis, in addition to everyday dry, itching and flaking skin.
Is E45 Cream suitable for babies?
Yes. E45 Cream can be used by the whole family, including infants over 1 month old, applied to the affected skin 2 to 3 times a day.
Is E45 Cream flammable?
Yes, when it has dried onto fabric. Clothing, bedding and dressings that have been in contact with E45 Cream catch fire more easily, even after washing. Do not smoke or go near naked flames while using it.
Can I use E45 Cream while breastfeeding?
Applying E45 Cream to the breast is not recommended while breastfeeding.
Ingredients
Active ingredients: White Soft Paraffin BP 14.5% w/w, Light Liquid Paraffin PhEur 12.6% w/w and Anhydrous Lanolin (Medilan®) 1.0% w/w.
Other ingredients: Glyceryl monostearate, cetyl alcohol, sodium cetostearyl sulphate, carbomer, methyl hydroxybenzoate (E218), propyl hydroxybenzoate (E216), sodium hydroxide, citric acid monohydrate, purified water.
Usage and Instructions
Apply to the affected skin 2 to 3 times a day, or as often as needed. For external use only. If symptoms persist, speak to your doctor.
Warnings
The following precautions apply when using this cream:
- Fire hazard: do not smoke or go near naked flames while using this cream. Fabric such as clothing, bedding and dressings that has been in contact with the cream can catch fire more easily, even after washing.
- Do not use if you are allergic to any of the ingredients.
- For use on skin only - avoid contact with the mouth, inner nose, eyes, genital area and broken skin.
- Cetyl alcohol in this cream may cause local skin reactions such as contact dermatitis, and the preservatives E216 and E218 may cause allergic reactions, which can be delayed.
- If you use topical minoxidil, speak to your doctor before using this cream, as it may increase minoxidil absorption.
- Applying this cream to the breast is not recommended while breastfeeding.
Side Effects
Occasionally, an allergic reaction or a worsening of acne may occur. Stop using the cream and speak to your doctor, pharmacist or nurse if you notice a rash or anything else unusual.
