Description
E45 Cream 350g is a fragrance-free moisturising cream, clinically proven to treat and soothe dry, itching, flaking, chapped, rough and calloused skin, sunburn and detergent hands. It's also used for more serious dry skin conditions, including eczema, dermatitis, ichthyosis and certain dry cases of psoriasis. The non-greasy formula is designed to leave skin feeling soft and comfortable, not sticky.

Can E45 Cream be used on eczema-prone skin?
Yes. It's licensed for the dry stage of eczema, along with dermatitis, ichthyosis and certain dry cases of psoriasis, as well as everyday dry, itching and flaking skin.
Can babies use E45 Cream?
Yes, from 1 month old. It can be applied to the affected skin 2 to 3 times a day for the whole family.
Does E45 Cream carry a fire risk?
Yes, once it has dried onto fabric. Clothing, bedding and dressings that have been in contact with the cream become easier to ignite, even after washing, so avoid smoking or naked flames while using it.
Is it safe to use E45 Cream while breastfeeding?
It's not recommended for use on the breast during breastfeeding.
Ingredients
Active ingredients: White Soft Paraffin BP 14.5% w/w, Light Liquid Paraffin PhEur 12.6% w/w and Anhydrous Lanolin (Medilan®) 1.0% w/w.
Other ingredients: Glyceryl monostearate, cetyl alcohol, sodium cetostearyl sulphate, carbomer, methyl hydroxybenzoate (E218), propyl hydroxybenzoate (E216), sodium hydroxide, citric acid monohydrate, purified water.
Usage and Instructions
Apply to the affected area 2 to 3 times a day, or as often as needed. For external use only. Speak to your doctor if symptoms persist.
Warnings
This cream carries several important precautions:
- Fire hazard: avoid smoking or naked flames while using this cream, as fabric that has been in contact with it, such as clothing, bedding or dressings, catches fire more easily, even after washing.
- Do not use if you're allergic to any of its ingredients.
- Use on skin only - keep away from the mouth, inner nose, eyes, genital area and broken skin.
- This cream contains cetyl alcohol, which may cause local skin reactions such as contact dermatitis, and the preservatives E216 and E218, which may cause allergic reactions that can be delayed.
- Speak to your doctor before using this cream if you use topical minoxidil, as it may increase minoxidil absorption.
- Not recommended for use on the breast during breastfeeding.
Side Effects
An allergic reaction or a worsening of acne can occasionally occur. If you notice a rash or anything else unusual, stop using the cream and speak to your doctor, pharmacist or nurse.
