E45 Cream 500g is a fragrance-free moisturising cream in a pump dispenser, clinically proven to treat and soothe dry, itching, flaking, chapped, rough and calloused skin, sunburn and detergent hands, and also used for more serious dry skin conditions such as eczema, dermatitis, ichthyosis and certain dry cases of psoriasis. Its pump dispenses a consistent amount of the non-greasy cream each time, without needing to reach into a tub.

Can I use E45 Cream if I have eczema?
Yes. It's licensed for the dry stage of eczema, dermatitis, ichthyosis and certain dry cases of psoriasis, as well as everyday dry, itching and flaking skin.
Is E45 Cream suitable for babies?
Yes, from 1 month old. It can be applied to the affected skin 2 to 3 times a day for the whole family.
Is E45 Cream flammable?
Yes, once it has dried onto fabric. Clothing, bedding and dressings that have been in contact with the cream catch fire more easily, even after washing, so avoid smoking or naked flames while using it.
How much cream does the pump dispense?
Each press of the pump dispenses approximately 4g of cream.
Can I use E45 Cream while breastfeeding?
Applying it to the breast is not recommended while breastfeeding.
Ingredients
Active ingredients: White Soft Paraffin BP 14.5% w/w, Light Liquid Paraffin PhEur 12.6% w/w and Anhydrous Lanolin (Medilan®) 1.0% w/w.
Other ingredients: Glyceryl monostearate, cetyl alcohol, sodium cetostearyl sulphate, carbomer, methyl hydroxybenzoate (E218), propyl hydroxybenzoate (E216), sodium hydroxide, citric acid monohydrate, purified water.
Usage and Instructions
- Twist the pump head to the open position.
- Depress the pump to dispense the cream (each press dispenses approximately 4g).
- Twist the pump head back to lock it after use.
Apply to the affected skin 2 to 3 times a day, or as often as needed. For external use only. If symptoms persist, speak to your doctor. Store below 25°C.
Warnings
Keep the following precautions in mind when using this cream:
- Fire hazard: do not smoke or go near naked flames while using this cream, as fabric such as clothing, bedding and dressings that has been in contact with it can catch fire more easily, even after washing.
- Do not use if you are allergic to any of the ingredients.
- For use on skin only - avoid contact with the mouth, inner nose, eyes, genital area and broken skin.
- This cream contains cetyl alcohol, which may cause local skin reactions such as contact dermatitis, and the preservatives E216 and E218, which may cause allergic reactions that can be delayed.
- If you use topical minoxidil, speak to your doctor before using this cream, as it may increase minoxidil absorption.
- Applying this cream to the breast is not recommended while breastfeeding.
Side Effects
Occasionally, an allergic reaction or a worsening of acne may occur. If you notice a rash or anything else unusual, stop using the cream and speak to your doctor, pharmacist or nurse.
