Description
Zerocream Emollient is a 500g leave-on moisturiser from the Zeroderma range, used for the relief of flaking, dry skin, including ichthyosis, dermatitis, the dry stage of eczema and dry cases of psoriasis. It contains a richer 27% paraffin base with lanolin, an occlusive ingredient that helps reduce water loss from the skin, making it suited to more persistently dry or flaking skin.
Key Features
- Contains lanolin for extra moisture retention: Lanolin (wool fat) acts as an occlusive moisturiser, reducing water loss from the skin.
- Richer 27% paraffin base: Combines white soft paraffin 14.5% w/w and liquid paraffin 12.6% w/w for a more intensive protective barrier.
- Can be used as a soap alternative: Formulated so it can replace soap as well as being used as a leave-on moisturiser.
- Suitable for a range of dry skin conditions: Covers ichthyosis, dermatitis, the dry stage of eczema and dry cases of psoriasis, as well as general flaking, dry skin.
- Suitable for adults, the elderly and children: Can be applied to affected areas of skin across all these age groups.
Can Zerocream be used during pregnancy or breastfeeding?
Using Zerocream during pregnancy and breastfeeding is unlikely to have any ill effects when used as directed. If you're unsure, speak to your doctor or pharmacist before use.
Why does Zerocream contain lanolin?
Lanolin (wool fat) is an occlusive ingredient that helps reduce water loss from the skin, which is why it's included in Zerocream's richer, more intensive formulation.
Why does Zerocream carry a fire warning?
Zerocream contains paraffin, which can soak into fabric. Clothing and bedding that have dried with the product on them catch fire more easily, so it's important to keep away from naked flames and not to smoke while using it.
Ingredients
Active ingredients: White soft paraffin 14.5% w/w, liquid paraffin 12.6% w/w.
Other ingredients: Lanolin anhydrous (wool fat), glyceryl monostearate, cetyl alcohol, sodium cetostearyl sulfate, citric acid monohydrate, carbomer, purified water, sodium hydroxide, sodium methyl hydroxybenzoate, sodium propyl hydroxybenzoate, BHT.
Usage and Instructions
Apply to the affected areas of skin 2-3 times daily, and smooth gently into the skin, following the direction of hair growth. Can also be used as an alternative to soap.
