Description
Lamberts Multi-Guard Sport is a multivitamin and mineral food supplement in a pack of 60 tablets. It is made for athletes and people who train regularly, and the pack states it supports normal energy production, muscle and cartilage function, and immunity. Its 2 daily tablets provide 13 vitamins, 9 minerals and a group of plant compounds, including 376mg of magnesium, which is 100% of the NRV.
Key Features
- Magnesium: 2 tablets provide 376mg (100% NRV). Magnesium contributes to normal muscle function and to normal energy-yielding metabolism, and to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue.
- B vitamins: thiamin, riboflavin, niacin, vitamin B6, vitamin B12, biotin and pantothenic acid are each provided at 200% to 300% NRV in 2 tablets. All of them contribute to normal energy-yielding metabolism.
- Vitamin C and zinc: 2 tablets provide 200mg of vitamin C (250% NRV) and 15mg of zinc (150% NRV). Vitamin C contributes to normal collagen formation for the normal function of cartilage, and zinc contributes to the normal function of the immune system.
- Vitamin D: 15µg per 2 tablets (300% NRV). Vitamin D contributes to normal muscle function and to the maintenance of normal bones.
- Antioxidant nutrients and plant compounds: vitamin C, vitamin E, selenium, zinc, copper and manganese each contribute to the protection of cells from oxidative stress. Each daily dose also includes 30mg of rutin, 30mg of citrus bioflavonoids, 10mg of grape seed extract and 25mg of quercetin.
Who is Lamberts Multi-Guard Sport for?
Lamberts describes it as a multivitamin and mineral product for athletes and for anyone doing regular or rigorous training. It contains vitamin A, and the pack says not to take it if you are pregnant, likely to become pregnant or breastfeeding except on the advice of a doctor.
How long does a pack of 60 tablets last?
The directions are 2 tablets a day, so one pack of 60 tablets lasts 30 days.
How much magnesium does Multi-Guard Sport contain?
Two tablets provide 376mg of magnesium. NHS advice is that adults aged 19 to 64 need 300mg a day (men) or 270mg a day (women), and that taking more than 400mg for a short time can cause diarrhoea. NHS also says 400mg or less a day of magnesium from supplements is unlikely to cause any harm. Because this product already provides 376mg, the pack advises against taking it with any other supplement that contains magnesium.
