Description
Lamberts MultiGuard Osteo Advance 50+ Multi-Vitamin & Minerals is a food supplement in a pack of 120 coated tablets. It combines 13 vitamins and 9 minerals with lutein and plant extracts, and gives 500mg of calcium and 250mg of magnesium in the 3 tablets taken each day. Because calcium, magnesium, vitamin D, vitamin K, zinc and manganese all contribute to the maintenance of normal bones, it puts several bone-related nutrients into one daily dose.
Key Features
- Calcium and magnesium: 3 tablets provide 500mg of calcium (63% NRV) and 250mg of magnesium (67% NRV). Both contribute to the maintenance of normal bones.
- Vitamins D and K: 3 tablets provide 10µg of vitamin D3 (200% NRV) and 75µg of vitamin K2 (100% NRV). Both contribute to the maintenance of normal bones.
- Antioxidant vitamins and minerals: vitamin C (120mg), vitamin E (24mg α-TE), zinc, copper, manganese and selenium each contribute to the protection of cells from oxidative stress.
- Lutein and plant extracts: each 3-tablet dose also includes 2mg of lutein, 50mg of turmeric extract, 13mg of rosemary extract and 50mg of grape seed extract.
- Suitable for vegetarians: the manufacturer states the tablets exclude wheat, barley, soya, eggs, milk and milk products, lactose, nuts, sulphites, celery, fish, shellfish, yeast and gluten-containing ingredients.
Who is Lamberts MultiGuard Osteo Advance 50+ for?
Lamberts lists it under bone health, menopause and multivitamins for people over 50. It is not recommended for anyone under 18. It contains vitamin A, so it should not be taken during pregnancy, if you are likely to become pregnant, or while breastfeeding.
How long does a pack of 120 tablets last?
The directions are 3 tablets a day, so one pack of 120 tablets lasts 40 days.
How much vitamin A does it contain?
Three tablets provide 800µg RE of vitamin A, which is 100% of the NRV. NHS advice is that adults should not have more than 1.5mg (1,500µg) of vitamin A a day from food and supplements combined, because more than that over many years may affect bones. This matters particularly for women who have been through the menopause and for older men. The NHS also advises against taking supplements containing vitamin A if you eat liver or liver products once a week.
